This is really what I want to discuss, and understand what other posters' opinions are. Hence Mr Pierre, why it's been asked in NSR not General
, making it quite relevant.
Interestingly though, it would be nice to know the extended opinions of those who have voted 'no' at the bottom of the poll. Maybe I should have made it so people can view others votes?
I started this poll because I have seen it from both sides of the barrel recently, with me being in the Subaru brand for 2 or so years (since I joined), and then most recently being forced out of it (for well publicised financial reason). My personal annoyance is when having a debate or a little friendly banter, the usual culprits come along and blurt out "well, you don't drive a Scoob, so why are you even on here" crap. Thats my opinion, and as said I am interested to see others, regardless whether they are in agreement with myself or total dis-agreement, or indeed whether they drive or don't drive within the Subaru marque.

I understand your annoyance at those who claim your opinion is less valid simply because you don't own a Scoob right now especially as that is hardly your free choice having, as you said, being forced into selling yours for financial reasons.
As far as I am concerned if people are narrow minded enough to claim you can't post here simply because you don't own a Scoob then it they who need to get a life.
Many Scoob owners who posted on this forum in the early days and helped this forum become the community it is today have moved on to other marques or drifted away from the car scene altogether - are we to now say their opinion has no validity simply because they no longer drive a Subaru?
The biggest laugh is the people that do the shouting about non Scoob owners posting here have probably only been here for five minutes themselves whereas some of the orginal posters have been on here for nealry ten years. If they are still contributing who cares whether they now drive a Scoob or not? Not me.

Yes I too would like to know the mindset of those who voted No as it just seems crazy to me. Maybe if non-Scoob owners were posting anti Subaru stuff all over the place then I could sort of understand it, buit that doesn't often seem to happen here.

Some go as far as trying to find some "excuse" to justify me being here or posting what I typed. Flaming, accusations of trolling etc. rather than digesting and considering my viewpoint.
The best ones came from users who flamed me, ignoring any good points and praises I mention about the car and going on accusing me of Subaru hatred. Some going as far to say being jealous that I don't own one etc. Of course, they soon shut up when some fellow member (or myself) pointed out that (at the time) I do own an Impreza,

Then we have the smart-***** who say "sell it", fine. But it wouldn't change my viewpoint either way - just give others a reason to jusify flaming me
![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)
During some point I feared that someone might accuse me of purposely buying an Impreza purely to troll scoobynet at how crap it is.

Of course, since the infraction system, I'm alot more aware of these people and therefore am much less articulate when it comes to having a good old fashioned rant about something others might object to. Its a bit of a shame when one can't make a constructive and justifiable statement or opinion because of narrow minded people eagerly jumping on the "trolling/insulting" infraction button. But I don't really care - its only the internet, there are far more important things in life to dwell on (like ignoring EVO reports and finding a "true" ultimate everyday driver's car

Can I ask what "genuine reasons" to get rid of the Scooby are allowed? My "genuine reason" was that I was sick of the poo quality interior (that was supposed to be be poor but I missed the r off and decided to leave it) and the fact that the bugeye was too slow.

Any genuine reason really. Things like a growing family, or requirements like better fuel economy/comfier ride etc. Suppose these may or may not be classed as genuine, but thats what it's all about, peoples different opinions.

Does because someone doesn't have a Subaru anymore/ at all mean they are not able to offer advice, help or an opinion? Just because someone doesn't own a certain car, doesn't mean they don't have something equally valid to add, moreso sometimes.
Not to mention, not all topics in general are absolutely specific to the brand, rightly or wrongly, so I personally can't see why anyone can't join in.
At the end of the day, it is just a forum, and yes there are more important things in life. However, to some people, they do treat it more as a community, as intended, and are here to help, for help, and most of all enjoy it, so why some people want to ruin that spirit is beyond me. To me it's just childish (if meant seriously) to say 'I don't want to talk to them as they don't even have a scooby', or 'Your opinion doesn't count, you don't own one of these anymore'. To throw around insults is not only childish, it's unneccesary, and only makes the person doing it look bad.
It cuts both ways, as just because someone has a different opinion, or says something not everyone may like, to play the trolling card straight away is just as bad.

I loved my original STi and tweaked it up into a very fast machine with outstanding roadholding. I agree with the less than outstanding quality of the interior but the engineering build was excellent, not a self tapping screw to be seen!
I had to sell it for personal reasons but still think it was a good car.
I don't think that the fact that it has gone should preclude me from posting on this forum or for that matter anyone else who has never owned one.

SNG should be a positive place for people who are looking for advice on Scoobs. Generally this will come from current Scoob drivers or (humble pie consumed) indeed people who used to own one. I object to the Scoob haters trolling within SNG hence IMHO they should stay away.

Can't disagree with you there. It is a place for advice and discussions, and shouldn't be used just to start having slanging matches. I don't see a problem with constructive criticism, and that can come as much from current scooby drivers as much as anyone else, just not using it to slag people/cars off and generally be unpleasant.
A bit less bitching and sniping at one another across the board would be no bad thing. It's supposed to be a community, of which we all enjoy for our own reasons, regardless of what car we have/our circumstances, that's why we are here, and as such I don't see that there is a place for people being out and out unpleasant. A bit banter is one thing, but I can't understand anyone being here, just to upset other members. Maybe I don't understand, as I'm quite nice, if I do say so.

I got my old STI back in 2003 and joined SN a month or so later, I found the site useful (and expensive due to all the group buys we used to have!) but when I sold the STI I stopped logging on.
Now I have my new Impreza I'm back (and the questions in SNG ares till the same) which I sometimes can help with (same answers) but i've noticed alot more troll type behaviour, resulting in fewer posts from genuine (myself included) members because you see right through the OP's motives.

Been without my old Impreza for about 3 months now but I still love the cars so I see no reason to stop floating around on here! That and all the topics about mpg etc over on the Skoda forums can get a bit tedious after a bit

I have come close a couple of times and bought a Volvo T5, Fiat Coupe Turbo and a Saab Aero instead because my missus thinks they are a **** car, they do attract some prize bell ends now they are cheap but that isn't my experience on here (in the main). Have registered on the forums for the other cars I have owned but the Volvo ones are too Swedish, Fiat owners always seem to be on the verge of crying due to engine problems and the Saab owners are ok but dont say much.
As for the Rover Forums (I had a BRM), bunch of strange anoraks in the main.
So, here I am, in the midst of Scoob owners.
