That is amazing. I mean truly amazing. I am almost speechless!.....BUT.....isn't it really annoying......that you just go out for a drive now.......and then it'll pretty much just look like all the rest of our cars that have been washed 'normally'? If I had a car that clean, I wouldn't wanna touch it, let alone drive it somewhere! Absolutely amazing, especially the exhaust & the underside!

Sorry mate... I feel for you... but been there done that...
When I bought my Type R it had had a rebuild by TegSport... Just after 13 months it went bang, I'd owned it for 2 months out of the 13... I couldn't get owt off them... And when I took it apart I was glad it didn't go back to them...
Nobody will warrent a engine for more than 12 months imo, these cars are supposedley built for abuse...
I know you haven't gone upto the mileage they said they warrenty the engine for... But having them parked up doesn't really help them...
Its just one of thoses things... Quickest way to get it going again will be for you to have it repaired....
I don't think you'll get a bean out of the engine rebuild company, I think court action etc will just cost you... Sorry
Hope all goes well for you anyway mate and hope you have it running again soon...
Theres plenty of willing peeps on here that will help you out...

Awsome car mate, I so wish the underneath of my car was that clean!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, I know how you feel and if you do go down the 2.5 route you won't regret it, can be costly though when your wish list keeps getting bigger

You should name and shame the companies involved!!

If I were you I would consult a solicitor, explain your fears re. the same builder doing your engine if you were to win any possible case, and see if it could be paid in cash to what an engine rebuild would have cost. It has a warranty end of, and you have proof to show this. If you don't drive the car that much, you have plenty of time to fight the case dude. Just my opinion on what I would do anywho. Best of luck mate
Thanks, matey. Attention to detail is key. I've been working on a couple of art pieces myself.

If I took it to court, don't think the engine builder would pay me the cost to get it rebuilt elsewhere. That's the biggest problem. Let's say he lost, I wouldn't want him to build the engine, for obvious reasons.

Thanks. I don't take the black one out that often. With the protection on the paintwork, it stays cleaner for longer. Between washes, I use a quick detailer to maintain the finish.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, can see where you're coming from. If an engine builder puts down 'engine warranty, 10k miles' in writing, then that's exactly what it means, and nothing else, IMO. He didn't put down anything about time frame, and neither does it say that the warranty would be void if the car was sold to someone else. There's nothing to support his case.

I don't think leaving it parked up for long periods did the damage. It was now coming up to my third year of parking it up for the winter for 6 months. It was running perfectly. Nothing wrong with the oil pressure, and no knock activity. Like I said before, regular oil changes using Silkolene oils. Another thing was, I never revved it over 6-6.5k, ever, and that's the truth, yet it still let go?

Cheers, bud.

2.5 would be awesome, but like you say, the cost is just crazy and keeps building.

Naming and shaming, all in good time.

Black - 2 weeks, white - 5 days. Would only take 1-2 days for a 'normal' detail.
