I got put at risk in July and then sent on Garden leave for 3 months. I've then got 3 months notice, so in theory, I'm sat on my **** until January before my pay out.
However, I've just won a grievence case on numerous different counts against the manager who put me at risk, so I need to have a long(ish) hard think about what to do now, as clearly the issues I raised in the grievence are why I got put at risk in the first place, no matter how it is dressed up.
Do I take the money and run, ask for more money to keep it nice and still run, or do I now resign and then go for broke down the legal avenue, do I now challenge the redundancy, the risk being that I might get my job back...
Any legal types who might be interested in taking this on, please get in touch.

If it's any consolation the oil sector is booming.

I interviewed a very poor junior candidate for a job last week who will start on 60K+bonus and a fully expensed house/car simply because we couldn't find anyone else to do their job. He wasn't even happy with that rate and kept asking when his first salary review would be.
On a personal note I expect a minimum of fifteen percent increase when it comes to contract renewal time or I will be gone without any sort of handover or briefing.
There are plenty of jobs in the oil industry and those that support it.

My old place Shepley was a window manufacturer employed 260+ people the place went into administration in Jan and went bump in Feb. I was there 10 years - its now been bought by the old - old owner and is reopen but on a smaller scale and only employs 40 people. I’m the purchasing manager here so it worked out good for me but not good for the others and the area .
