Are you saying you've got a hike of over 70bhp for only 2.5K

I've got an easy 140bhp increase and could have got under the 2.5k with a bit of carefull shopping, i went down the trial and error route and spent about double.

I'm sure if you know exactly what you want and go into the 2nd hand market then there is cheaper bhp to be had. I too have done it step by step and it's
cost me close to 6k to get my WRXppp up to 340bhp. £1600 of that has been the mapping at various stages with different tuner's (obviously best to find a good one and stick with him). The Tubular Headers did a lot more for the mid range power than the bhp headlines. I still think good bhp is going to cost and for me how the car performs on the road and reliability are the keynotes.

Hi, I think the final cost is closer to 3k, a large chunk of that are the dealer labour costs (if only I could do this work myself!) My local dealer Tileys of Bristol helped me out with some good quality second hand parts (amongst some new bits) and gave me a deal on the labour costs. I upraded the exhaust first inc uppipe, and just drove round with the CEL on for two months. I only remapped the day after I upgraded the turbo and injectors. Thinking about it now I could have probably saved myself a little more if I had waited and got some more of the work done together and saved a bit more on some of the labour costs, but me being me was just too impatient to get the new bits on!

The work was all carried out by Tileys in Bristol and the remap by Bob Rawle in Swindon.

Just been through my reciepts, total price around £2800, would have been a bit cheaper had an STI intercooler, undertray and scoop already painted in my cars colour not come my way for £300 .. couldn't resist

only thing i would say is, your not gonna wanna pay for an sti if your gonna upgrade alot fo the parts, you'll be paying for it twice if you do.

for example.

i could have bought an sti classic instead of what i've done to mine, but, i know have more bower, better handeling and strongr drive train without a bigger out lay for the car and parts that were replaced
