Ok...maybe 10k is a bit of a stretch...well Im not looking for too much for the car as is, however 3k is a little less then I expected, but you never know the way things are right now I might just have to take you up on that.

Honest truth is that if someone offers you 4k, take it.
Cosmetically the repairs may be reasonable, but with the replacements of airbags and seatbelts (yes you have to replace the seatbelts and pretensioners after an accident as they are now useless) and maybe the radiator etc (the chassis may need checking to ensure its not twisted in any way) it eats away at your profit
Parts are the biggest hit on people buying to repair this car, it can be done cheaply but then again if its not done properly.....

Thumbs up

Given that the impact has deployed the airbags it would need a jig and pull to repair, not a maybee a deffo to repair correctly. If you reckon £10k could be achieved for this when repaired i suggest you look around you could buy a staright undamaged one for that so why would this fetch that? 20% below that at retail and unless you are a private seller you have to declare the damage. Then if it has been damaged you cannot sell it on finanace or without telling someone its been repaired so you are then looking for someone with 8>10k in cash who wants to buy a damaged repaired car? The only way this will achieve a good price is someone buying to keep for themselves , anyone like myself that buys it would buy it to break it and only have a nod and wink its ok to the warranty all components and take the risk.
It if nothing else faulty of course teh idea is to l achieve profit in parts but not in a day, often cars take a year or more to reduce to parts and yield profit, and vat payable on parts sold, rental to store it,disposal of the waste products, insurnace etc etc etc
It like everything is only worth what someone will pay for it. I have not attached a bid for the car yet but reckon my valuation "in my head" will be close, if not there are loads more out there.(sti 7 just in, same sad waste of a car starts and drives, airbags ok,some front end parts on;-) )
All imho by the way and no insults intended, and i repeat Mrs _t let me know when ya decide what to do.
The sale price is one which has to be set by the seller and agreed by the buyer

03 STi for sale on Pistonheads that was a CAT D repaired going for £6,995!
Subaru : Cheap Impreza WRX STI Version 8 in Sonic Blue Mica

No point spending maybe £1,500 to get your car fixed, + road tax, M.O.T if its run out as its been in storage for so long. and any other things that might need fixing, could end up costing you more then you think. Personally Id get shot off it, and there are plenty of decent offers on here id take, and not have the hassle of getting it fixed yourself!!!!

Just fixed my missus car that had a slight bump on it recently, and trust me, it didnt look as bad when looking at it, but you dont realise how much money you really have to spend, things like steering rack could be bent, tracking will be miles out, and other suspension parts could be bent.

Hang on a minute I didn't and don’t plan on offering anything for it it was to highlight how cheap I thought the offers had been for the damage caused (before I noticed the airbags had gone off).
Your offer of 3k is taking the Pi** big style and you know it.

i just got 10150 for my straight 03 sti PPP with 38k on the clock so if you think 10k straight then good luck you might get some poor bugger buying it! I may be interested in it but not 5k with the airbags deployed!

As with selling anything second hand, a guide price is given and buyers will always try and get you lower and lower.

I started at £5k and have had offers thrown my way, is that not how it works anymore

Lady T

Please accept my apologies for ‘diving in’ on my first post!

I’m looking for a car to run in sprints and hillclimbs in the road going class. I’m currently running a bike engined single seater - it's only 180 BHP but also only one third of a tonne! There's a photo in My Scooby - https://www.scoobynet.com/scooby.php?profileid=3047 For several reasons, I want to move away from this class. So, I’m tempted by your car, as it would make a good base and I wouldn’t be overly concerned about the resale value (there’s nothing that knocks value off a car more than competing in it!).

I’d like to see some more photos of the damage, inside the engine bay and for example. Could you send me a private message so that we can exchange details.

Thanks

Wyn
