Neck ties........Why???
#33
I don't wear one, its just an extra process that isnt actually required in the morning, ok for meetings but otherwise why would I want a minature paisley scarf on.
I kind of object having had it rammed down my thoat at the Police, I wasnt a copper, I was in IT but we were required to wear a tie in the early nineties, not optional for men, in fact a trainee was in line for being disciplined for not wearing one, my boss sent home to get one, he didnt come back, the only time we were allowed to take it off was when the temperature went over 80f and the boss came round to tell us we could take them off, when the temperature dropped he came round and told us to pu them back on.
One guy objected to this based on the fact ladies didnt have to wear one, he was the union rep, he was made to wear one but stopped one day and a crusade began that ended up with them being told that they couldnt enforce it.
The Boss who enforced it so rigidly was a prize ****, a bell end of the highest order, I realised this within 0.00001 seconds of meeting him, he was wearing a Bow Tie of his own free will, he was not a bouncer or attending a function that required evening attire for gentlement, ok in academia they are slighlt acceptable as with a huge bush of curly grey hair, big specs and interesting skin anomalies they are part of the Eccentric academics wardrobe.
Otherwise, a Bow Tie says **** like no other accesory,
Well except perhaps a Cravate, but I dont want to be too harsh on those as I suspect Les wears one, with a regimental blazer, therefore I can condone them.

You certainly look much smarter with a tie, open neck shirt looks like you are just off to the beach or something like that. Depends on what you are doing at work of course.

I agree with above^ comment. IMO men look smarter with nice silk tie on a tidy shirt, or, with a suit My mother-in-law also tells anyone or everyone with a tie on- "Looking very smart!"
LOL if you ever worked for PCWorld, I must have your tie somewhere!
Similar (not the same ) is another reason for me to like a tie on my man. Good for pulling him closer I think Britney Spears does pull a guy with a tie in her "Toxic" video, doesn't she?

When I worked in retail, we were issued with clip-on ties so that angry customers couldnt grab hold of them and strangle us.
