Sorry pal if your if your being straight with your saying, but it sounds like you've bought your car from a right dreamer because it will never do 140 in 4th, if its a import you will probably be topping out in 5th at 140/150.

Cheers Dougie

With that code it wont be an sti box, there are some that will do about 130 in 4th with an sti rev limit so with the over reading speedo i could see 140 in 4th being poss

Ok lets get to the point, there's no way your car is making anywhere near 350bhp at 1 bar. I think we're all agreed on that.

Now on to your original question. If you're wanting 400 - 450 you're going beyond simple bolt on mods. As a bare minimum you'll need to replace the rods that are in there at the moment. Standard classic rods are gash. The STI forged pistons are OK but lighter and stronger aftermarket ones will be the way forward.
You'll need to replace your gearbox if its standard. If the gearbox is noisier than your mates then it might have a PPG or similar in it which would be a bonus. Fueling, you'll need 740's and I'd advise a full reversed flow parallel rail set up. Its not essential but it does improve things. You'll need an aftermarket fuel pressure reg (sx, Fuel labs etc). At the sort of power your looking for you'd be better off going Mafless so budget in a grand or so for a simtek ECU. You'll need a decent clutch at that level so anything upwards of £500 for that. Now that figure can be achieved for alot less but its making the car reliable at that power that's going to cost money.

My advise is don't skimp or your car will costs you thousands and will me more often off the road than it is on it.

There's another giveaway about the power reading. If it is a standard WRX box it would of sh*t itself at 350bhp.

Hi Bob

No worries,
On the OEM fuel setup the fuel enters the rails at the front i.e nearest the front of the car. Then each injector is fed inturn. Reversing the flow improves the feed to the injectors.

A Parallel setup improves things further. Not only are you feeding the injectors from the rear but you've split the main fuel feed and are feeding both the rails at the same time instead of sequentially.

Here's a diagram of my set up if it helps

Not really sure on your last question.

Last box I blew up, just started rattling on my was to tesco's. Then it made a loud bang on a full boost(1bar) gear change from second to third.

It was one of my "what'll happen if I do this" moments. I could have drove it home had I not done that.

I can show you a printout of mine for 320bhp but it doesnt mean its that power! Your not wanting to discuss your car as you have already made your mind up

As for 450bhp, uprated engine, uprated gearbox, new turbo, bigger injectors, aftermaket exhaust manifold, new ecu and a few other things and your sorted

We're not taking the ****. But I think you need a slight reality check. Making claims that you reasonably standard car is making 350bhp at 1 bar is opening yourself up to the sort of responses you've been getting.

There's been some good advise here. Some of it from people's experiences.

I'm no expert but I know enough having been where you are about four years ago. I'm now in the process of building a 600bhp motor. You should start listening to people who been down the path you're about to tread
