Turn this crap off, stop giving power and money to the rich old dwarf and the guy who pays women for sex and watch motoGP instead.
This isn't the only thread running about this incident. The other one is up to 15 pages.

Both threads aren't exclusivley discussing the politics of F1. The actual over taking manouver, the subsequent relinquishing of that place, then the last pass into La Source were also debated.

Watch MotoGP instead? I didn't think it was a case of one or the other? Some of us watch both. And I thought, out of yesterdays two races, the F1 GP was actually more enjoyable than the MotoGP.

Welcome back NACRO, your slightly odd take on life is something this site needs.

A debate over a single overtake and the subsequent farce that surrounded it and all the other political crap is exactly what I'm talking about.

I saw 'highlights' of Monza and if you enjoyed that more than the spectacle of bikes racing in a hurricane then I'm at a loss to understand why. Certainly the action from the brickyard was probably one of the worst this year but still miles ahead of the F1 'action' that seems to involve little more than well times pit stops to win a race.

Bikes racing round a wet track at extreme speeds in strong winds. Amazing skill and I take my hat off to them.

22 Cars racing at 200mph and the drivers unable to see the front of their own car.

Let's agree to disagree, because the alterantive is unthinkable.

An uncharacteristically illogical post about two very different styles of motor sport.

I watched both and enjoyed them both equally from their individual standpoints.

I second that. Both sports are great to watch. All forms of motorsport have good and bad races in terms of the viewing spectacle. Problems is, people who don't follow the sport, want to just switch on and be 'entertained'. It's the same with me and football. I find it one of the most boring sports that graces our LCD screens.

If you have such little interest in F1, why do you feel it important to waste your "valuable" time reposnding to this thread?

If you have no interest, then keep your nose out and go and post a Moto GP thread where you can enjoy that with other Moto GP fans.

You're like an annoying idiot butting into peoples conversations in the pub

......because I find it interesting that a sport I used to really enjoy watching has become little more than a procession decided by pit stop strategy, dumb luck and politics.

I infracted you BTW (something I very rarely do) as I felt your insult was uncalled for.

My comments about MotoGP were as logical as anything I've read here. I wasn't comparing the 2 sports merely stating that anyone who enjoys motorsport would do better to obsess less over F1 and get into MotoGP if they haven't already.

What sad, lowlife issued an infraction for that? Total mis-use of the system and the user should be thrown out.

User 'Dream Weaver' insulted me for no reason whatsoever and I used the infraction system that exists to punish such comments. Unlike many however I have the ***** to admit it as you would have seen if you'd bothered to read.

Oh come on. Dishing out an infraction may have made you feel all 'big and powerful', but I totally agree with dream weaver. This thread wasn't about whether you 'liked' F1 or not. Try doing some reading yourself!

PM from the man himself.

I infracted you for using the phrase 'sad low life' clearly in contravention of the terms and conditions of the website.

Again I've had the gumption to stand up and be counted.

Cheers

purvis, the thread is a discussion about the penalty, the politics surrounding it and even discussion of a petition. I merely stated that it's a shame and highly indicative of the state of F1 that the discussion is about this rather than the racing.
A perfectly valid discussion, free of insults and petty name calling, on my part at least.

I have been called all the names under the sun for justifying the decision that the steward took towards Hamilton. I didn't feel the need to tell people off by infracting them.

You did say 'F1 is a load of cr%p' yes? Are we wrong to disagree?

Also, Dream Weaver said 'You're like an annoying idiot butting into peoples conversations in the pub.'

He didn't actually call you any names whatsoever.

You didn't feel the need, I however think the infractions I've given appropriate and balanced. As I said I rarely do it but I've decided that it's time to start using the system that's been provided in the same spirit as many other people.

Personally I agree with your and others viewpoint that the steward's decision was correct even if I think the punishment was OTT and has brought the sport into even more disrepute.

Certainly you can disagree with my comment that 'F1 is a load of crap' however I'd have thought the way to do it was without petty name calling. At least if you want to avoid being infracted.

.......and purvis, if I say that Gordon Brown is like a dog turd I think it's fairly conclusive that I have a low opinion of him and that I'm insulting him. BTW I don't believe that, he's far lower in my estimations.

Can you take a little humour? You're in the wrong place if not. What do you do if somebody makes fun of you in the real world? Report it to the Police, or threaten them with a scoobynet infraction?

Surely, calling the infractor a sad lowlife was my opinion that I am entitled to?

Wow, two infractions in 6 minutes? I've never had any before now. I feel honoured.

Purvis, 'humour' of that kind isn't wanted, tolerated or allowed here. I'm merely following the rules laid out for us all to follow.

I plan to post within the spirit and letter of the law pertaining to this forum whenever I contribute to it from now on and expect the same from others.

edit to add: yes you're welcome and entitled to your opinion. However like me you aren't allowed to express it in that way any more without getting infracted.

Yes I am, not least because I'm the type of person who always buys a round when it's their turn and always has an interesting, witty comment to make on the subject at hand.

Do you go 'down the pub' much purvis?

Yes I do as it goes. I would like to again, share you're latest PM with the scoobynet community, which I am totally entitled to do.

I was going to infract you for trolling with your 'pub' comments. However I think you're probably trying to provoke such a reaction and have therefore decided to let it slide this time.

Have a great day

NACRO

That's it for me on this thread as you are clearly only interested in 'infractions' rather than having a topical debate.

I'm in my 30's and the infractions are justified because people chose to insult me, troll the thread and break the terms and conditions they signed up to when they joined the site. They can of course appeal against them and I believe they'd have a good chance of having them reversed merely because it was me that infracted them.

I wouldn't dream of second guessing them, all I can say is that I've only ever used it in cases of name calling, trolling, racist comments (not on this thread)and nothing more. Certainly not because I've disagreed with someone's opinions given without recourse to childish insults and on the occasions I have given them I had the gumption to say so.
As far as I'm aware the moderators don't have anything to do with the infraction system. I do believe however that an appeal made on an infraction gven by me would have a higher than usual chance of being reversed.

Nacro, I never actually insulted you, I merely compared you to the muppets you get in pubs ocassionally.

If I'd wanted to insult you I would have used something more appropriate to how your character comes across, for instance by saying "Nacro, you are a complete **** jockey", which I also find to be true.
