I'm back from an all too brief weekend in France. I can't say what the wet handling was like, as it was effing fantastic weather
I'm totally sold on these tyres now, they're quieter at speed, and they feel more solid, there's no vague sort of squirmy, squishy feeling on bends. I got the speed wrong on a slip road leaving an N road, and was very pleasantly surprised how well they coped with my error. I'm not saying I would of even come close to loosing control on the Re050's, but there would of been a bit more of an "oooh, sh1te" about it. My missus didn't even notice.
As for the rolling radius difference, at 100MPH on my satnav, my speedo was at about 104. Which is about 3-4 miles better than before. At all speeds, the speedo was over compared to the satnav. I'll have to find somewhere suitable to check it at the 150 mark
I've gotten used to the visual size difference on the rims as well, and one bonus, the slightly porky sidewalls give good rim protection.

sorry to hijak the thread.
but has anyone upgraded from the GSD3's to the asymmetic?? i've got the GSD3's at the momment and i really like them (best tyre i've ever had anyhow) so i was just wondering how do the two compare (in all areas: wet and dry grip, road noise, wear, conering feel, etc)
hope no one takes offence of the hijak, just seemed a little silly to start a new thread on what is pretty much the same subject.

Hijack away. I didn't do the upgrade, but I've had both, I had the GSD3's on my previous WRX. Whilst I can't give a direct comparison, the F1A's are as good as, probably better than, the GSD3's. I should of mentioned that even the wife noticed the car was quieter at motorway speeds compared to the RE050's.

CD I run 36psi all round.
A Point to all: Be aware that you must check your tyre pressures completely cold to get an accurate reading. Even driving like miss daisy for a mile can distort the reading (ie the hotter the tyre the higher the pressure). So if you're checking your pressures at the garage, like most, a hot reading of 33psi will actually be more like 30psi cold.
All manufacturer recommended pressures are for cold tyres..!

has any one else done a direct swap to compare?

sorry should have clarified...i was hoping to find someone that has gone from the GY F1 GSD3 to the new GY F1 Asymmetic.
just wondering if they are comparable - are the F1A's supior in all areas or better in some but not others when compared to the GSD3's

Hi Xia - thanks for posting your review - just a quick Q - are you using the standard wheels on your 05 WRX PPP wagaon (I've got the same) and got the GY Asymms on OK (225 40 17)?
