My argument is everytime they work on it I get no change or other problems. They can't even diagnose the problem let alone sort it. I'm fighting for a replacement and won't give in unless I legally have to!
Will post any updates as and when I get them!!

Write a letter to Vauxhall HO and the MD and detail your problems and if he is aware of $hite customer service and selling $hitty cars.

I did this to Peugeot and the dealer was ringing me then and not the other way round. Mind you probably took a good couple of months to get moving.

Now have the MDs name and address and am in the prossess of draughting a letter to him.
If I have to "confirm my name", "date of birth", and "first line of my address" ("including postcode") again to the t##ts in the dealership and finance company then I won't be held responsible for my actions

I had similar recently albeit it on a 97 calibra so may not be relevant. Mine would only do it though when the engine was upto operating temp, I had a offside track rod that was loose, however you couldnt see that it was loose and appeared tight if checked. Was only when the car went in for an mot that the fault was found (car had been for a run beforehand and went straight on the ramps)

What a Bunch of Useless *****. So called customer (couldn't)care(less) team. Called and explained we really need to sort out all these issue we are having with our 2 vans. one is 2 years old and has spent around 65 days in dealers in that time, the other is 10 months old and spent 80 days. Have been told to take up with the supplying dealer who are useless. We are on the edge of getting rid of both of them at the moment. The area manager was going to give us a call back in march and has never done so yet, altho we have tried every month to get in contact with him. Beyond a joke now. Anyone recommend a nice reliable LPG van? or should we not bother FFS.

FPMSL couldn't agree any more. I've told them they can have my car back when they can find me a suitable courtesy car (not a 1.6 club) and not until!! Oh and i've stopped the supplying dealership from working on my car after the endless bullsh*t from the w@nker 'customer care gofer' and finding damage to one of my wheels, see this thread https://www.scoobynet.com/other-marq...l-monkeys.html. Only gonna let the new dealership work on it coz I know they won't be able to cure it and thus make the car officially "not fit for purpose" and then they will have to replace it (hopefully) Then I will be trading said replacement car (with virtually no miles) in for a Volkswagen Touran

Spec'c'57 I can say one thing, don't buy another Vauxhall I certainly won't be

your right to dig your heels in mate, having worked in the industry for 16 yrs (so glad i am out of it) dealers don't care and they know that as much as the manufactures! On a customer handling course they train you to put up obstacles to put people off, only the ones that keep on and on get what they want.(about 2% take it all the way) So keep on it mate, under the sale of goods act it is clearly not fit for ther purpose it was sold, so you deserve a full refund as you have clearly lost confidence in not just the product but the company behind it! (tell i been down this road a few times eh)

Tried arguing with Vauxhall customer (couldn't) care (less) services today with absolutely no luck. Kept getting "its company policy to repair your vehicle not replace it"
Anyhoos I spoke to trading standards who have told me to write (again) to my finance company and tell them that under the Supply of goods (implied terms) act, I am not getting continual satisfactory quality and that I am paying under protest! Also that I have given them a resonable chance to correct the fault, and that they may be in breach of contract. I'm also to tell them that my car usage is now restricted to essential journeys only and that I would like the contract to be recinded, however I would be prepared to accept a like for like replacement! The letter is going in the post tonight, hopefully that will give them a kick up the @rse. If I don't get a satisfactory solution that they are going to take up the matter themselves
Going to Volkswagen over the weekend to suss out their deals! Vauxhall can ***k off

Good luck at Volkswagen, IMHO they are as bad if not worse than vauxhall! Long story and I won't bore you with all the details.

Have you considered Honda / Mazda ?

The key to enjoying your car is that it was put together well in the first place something which the japs seem fairly good at .

Seriously though, since getting rid of my passat and getting a Mazda 6, I haven't looked back. The Mazda is so much better in lots of different ways like............ it doesn't cut out at 70mph in the fast lane, it starts every time, bits don't fall off it, the interior heater works as and when it should, it doesn't go into limp home mode because it feels like it, when you turn the steering the interior fan still works, the cooling fans don't burn themselves out because it is a hot day, the fuel cooler doesn't come loose and drag along the road ................

Trust me the list of stuff I had wrong with my Passat was frightening, the clincher was when it packed up in the fast lane at 70mph ish.......... that is when I rang work and told em straight that enough was enough, either they collected the car or I would post the keys back to them in a jiffy bag and go and hire a car at there expense.

Funnily enough in no time I had a loan car and the passat was rejected by both my company and the lease company on the grounds it was not safe - after 18 months of continual problems with it VW had no option but to take it back - I pity the fool that has now bought that car!

Stick with it..... eventually you will get resolution but whilst you are going through all the crap you are it just seems to be a cycle of perpetual crap further hampered by idiots who couldn't care less that the goods you are paying for do not fulfill their specified purpose.

I really feel for - good luck and hope you get a satisfactory outcome very soon.

the biggest joke of all this is that in Europe, they have 3 attempts ro repair the same fault, if the can't, automatic replacement!! Hence why they have fought long and hard to keep it out of this country!

A few years ago, I had a new Bora 150 TDI, great engine but the electrics went a bit funny, nothing to stop the car from running, but the service dept was useless (all four dealers that is!)

Variable service mileage had to be reset every service until 150 kmiles

Air con fans were changed on two occasions, I ended up keeping a spare set of fuses.

Fuel release cap failed, they refused to help me open it and wanted me to wait for the part to be delivered (they said I might electrocute myself if I decided to fix it myself)

Emissions light took two months to resolve, even gave me the car back swearing blind it had been fixed with the light illuminated on the dashboard.

Central locking would not lock the rear N/S door.

Clunk on front suspension, never sorted.

After the lease expired, I bought a Honda.

Been into speak to the franchise manager at VX today. He'd organised a same spec car from a local hire firm so they can look at mine again. However the hire firm wanted to swipe MY credit card!! Needless to say I refused!! Had some words with the manager and to cut a long story short, told him I was going to hand the car back to the finance company as I'd just about had enough. He tried to talk his way out of it but I wasn't having any of it!! I left in my own car, and left the manager with a flea in his ear. Anyway he rang me at 6.10pm and let me know he'd managed to arrange the same hire car without swiping my card (he told me earlier that this would not be possible! ) Amazing what you can get if you persist. Anyway if I accept and let them have the car back in, he and the franchise director will be personally keeping an eye on proceedings and will not release the car until I have tested it and I am happy it is fault free!! I have left him overnight as I'm still not sure whether to cancel my contract or let them fix it. Leaves him in no doubt that I'm not prepared to play their games.

If you can walk away at this point without any dramas I`d do it.

My mate is in the process of swapping his Zafira for an Accord. He`s finally had enough.

Its the francise director you need to kick up the bum. I have to say that after doing that (was a three page letter!) and following up with some 'heated' phone calls I now appear to have my dealership eating out of my hand My car went in again on Friday and I gave the list of work to the franchise manager which he PERSONALLY added to the new job card. He then had his senior mechanic meet me in person and go over said job card. I was then given the opportunity to voice any concerns I had (which BELIEVE me I did ). The franchise manager then escorted me over to the hire company to collect my 1.9CDTi Zafira Elite (top spec, full leather, complete with diesel I dont have to match on return) hire car!! I did not have to get my credit card swiped either as any indemnity now lies with the franchise!! Incidently they are getting a Technician (who is coming from Luton) to test the vehicle after repair and if he gives it the ok they are going to return mine with a full tank of diesel Its amazing how they change their tact when they realise you aren't going to let it drop! Its down to them to get my car sorted now whilst I enjoy putting the miles on a hire car thats costing them £30 a day!!

Spec'c'57 good luck on Wed keep us posted on how you get on. I'll do the same!!

Well we look to have managed a good route for replacing our 2 vans, Had a call from Vauxhall Customer care team today agreeing that the LPG parts supply that we/everyone has had in the last 2 years is a joke, and kinda apologised. THEN went on to offer us a replacement for them both. but diesel, at which point we said No thanks we just want our money back and then we can try a new berlingo LPG. So looks like ours may be resolved soon.
