As far as I know it's a loophole because you pay less tax as a result of having your vehicle classified as such.

It's not like I can change the classification of my vehicle on my V5 now is it? Or is it??? - surely if that were the case every f**ker on here would be changing their vehicle classification overnight

Like I said, it's a loophole because imported vehicles don't get classified on emissions as far as I'm aware. My old imported celica was classified PLG, but then it was pre-2001 anyhow.

I'm personally REALLY pi**ed off as my car was registered on the 5 days after the cut off date for this retrospective sh*te.

I think the government should stop f**king us over in the pretence that they're being good to the environment when they make their money on gas guzzlers off fuel tax anyways. Bloke in a vectra doing 40,000 miles a year is still going to pollute more than me doing 10,000. End of.

That and they've managed to screw the second hand car market right up with these new plans; but they don't think of that do they - as long as they can carry on living the high life and joe public continues to sit on their ***** and accept it nothing will change! It really would take some sort of riot or similar to make them take notice nowadays I think...
