Bob T.

Do you turn your back when the RAF aircraft are on in the airshows?
I generally try to find somewhere to sit down so I don't need to worry about about RAF types sneaking up behind whilst my attention is elsewhere.

We managed to catch the Vulcan taking of today, it also did a quick circuit and a wing wobble thing before leaving...not sure if the wing wobble was intentional or the crew loosing control as they waved, cooooweeee!

Admit it BOB!

They re-created the 'You've lost that loving feeling' scene whilst you were sat drinking at the bar.

and then you were followed into the ladies room....

rallymad homo, not managed to choke on a Biffi yet, have managed to stay well clear actually! For those that don't know, a Biffi is a ***** shaped snack that RMH was obsessed with in Germany

You could also say the the fighter pilots would not have had airfields to operate from if the bomber crews had not set off at night to fly through the flak and fighter and gun defences to weaken the enemy's ability to wage war on all fronts knowing that their survival chances were extremely low deep inside enemy territory.

In fact it is most unfair to claim anything different for either type of operation anyway. The wartime fighter aircrew deserved full praise also for what they managed especially when many of them were thrown into the ring with only just enough training to be able to fly a fighter anyway.

As a matter of fact the navigator must have a very long "lean" since either navigator's seat is at least 15 feet away from the control column in the Vulcan and several feet lower!

It is a pity that 558 is so severely restricted in what it is allowed to do at a display. Maybe none have seen a full blown display as it used to to be while it was still in RAF service. Those who have will tell you that it used to eclipse most of the others.

Now Bob, bob.... After all that construction work we did for you. The fresh brews we made you in a morning. Tut tut. We would be cooking breakfast (beans and sausage) on the stove and bob would pull out ANOTHER 4 pack of bifi rolls. Upon being asked "how many did you buy bob?" the reply was "a 4 pack for each day" If i remember rightly bob i do belive i took a small bite and said it tasted like feet....lol

Pic of bob holding said snack......

Apparently traders at Leuchars airshow were worried about lost revenue from the poor weather, thankfully bob turned up and the day was saved
