37, exactly 1 year ago. I took out a multi-car policy with Admiral for me and the missus: JDM Bugeye WRX (estimated 4000 miles per year) + current model 2 year old Passat (estimated 12,000 miles per year, mainly business) = 1100 quid.
One year on and now with a brand new Passat Estate to replace the saloon, same policy = 700 quid.
I think they just hate Imprezas of any age and expect all new owners to make a claim or even kill themselves within the first 12 months. If you can survive the first year in tact, they probably think you're not such an ar*ehole driver after all!
I can't remember exactly how that 1100 quid original cost was proportioned, but I think it was massively weighted towards the Impreza, since it was the new addition to the fleet with no NCB. This presumably explains the 400 quid drop in 1 year.

I was 30 and paid £443 fully comp with Churchill for a standard UK turbo 2000, that included an at fault write off within the last 3 years.

I havent got one any more.
I looked in the mirror one day and I realised I was too old for one, so sold it.
And went to the dark side, my Mitsubishi's have been much kinder to me.

21 in November 2005. Although I couldn't drive it until I passed my test in March 2006
White 2.0 Sport was £1510 tp f&t.
Was 21 when I bought my WRX in May 2006. That was £2500 fully comp with 2 months driving experience. 22 in December 2006 when I bought my UK turbo. That was £1750 fully comp with 9 months experience.
Mad, mad I tells ya!

40 years old, no claims in 25 years - yep - 25 years. got the new 2.5 ltr impreza, cost £425 through Elephant.
Decided that Subaru wasn't for me and recently bought a mitsubishi Evo 8.
Keith Michaels (superb service) quoted £450. All mods declared, 35% more power. About right me-thinks.
Please, Subaru peeps. Have a go in an Evo, they are totally different Class.
A class of their own really.

Who mentioned EVO....I said Mitsubishi.
In fact its a Delica, the referance to dark side is when I close the curtains.....yes you heard right, curtains all round..loverly.
And its got a bonnet scoop, just for nostalgia.
All the indian guys wave at me, just like you lot in the scooby club.
Got to go, need diesel......27 to the gallon@1.20 a litre, love it.
It has a calendar instead of a speedo, which is nice.
Later Yoza

Was 28 and cost me about £700 fully comp for my UK2000. It was the most reliable car i've ever had, in 3 years of ownership never missed a beat/nothing broke. I should never have got rid of it as I obviously had a good one after hearing what others suffered with theirs.
