Lets all just chill.. and draw some pictures. You never know, maybe you are good at it? Then you can start begging for a career change on scoobynet, instead of selling your car and gettin a banger

More to the point, why would he even want to use this forum after his 'welcome'? Can't really imagine he'd be back, and who could blame him?

Some good points been made about lack of research prior to his purchase, but some posters have still been canny harsh.

*sniff*

Maybe that guy should direct his attention to progress his career instead of flaming, moaning and driving a old banger with big brakes?!

I don't understand how someone who openly begs on a car forum for a job, works in a factory, struggling with cash, sold his red scooby, likes to draw cartoon car pictures and can only afford a 205 gti can complain about someone else's spelling?!

mm...... buying a car involves money....... spelling correctly does not..... I can sympathise with people who struggle with the longer words but it is simply nonsensical for someone to type 'ov' instead of 'of'

I joined this forum for the fact that it has a reputation for one of the best forums for advice on many diffrent things which are not allways scooby related but this post has brought out some of the worst ive seen, If he doesn't own a scooby them he joined for nothing and if he does then he should be treated with the respect that the forum carrys and not ridiculed.

Why do people have to pick instead of just not posting and leaving be????

I for one am adult about things maybe thats why i find this shocking

I was wondering that too.........it was a pretty personal attack there, so I'd say leave it out on an open public forum.

We can all (and sometimes do) take the p*ss out of those folks that have difficulty with spelling and grammar, but generally it's for the banter rather than having a serious go at folks.

I mean, there are probably some Saxo and Corsa drivers that are quite intelligent and articulate individuals! It is wrong to stereotype them all as dimwitted chav scum with penchants for dodgy over the top bodykits and eight exhaust pipes at the back of their woefully underpowered baked beans on wheels........it's still fun though

That seems to be the sad reality of this forum now, if a post isn't ripped apart for its spelling then its grammar. Then theres new members cars being slated because it doesn't meet the standard of others..."change the wheels mate, that looks chav, etc etc. It seems to me that the majority of people on here are either school teachers or own their own tuning shop..

You missed out the quotation marks at the end of "change the wheels mate, that looks...........blah blah blah"

You should be shot.

I know what you mean there, but I don't really agree with your IQ comment.

I know plenty of people that have good academic qualifications, yet are still thick as f*ck, and useless at most things in life involving common sense.

I have also worked alongside older guys in their 50's with a very poor level of education: they would come on this forum and probably get laughed at for their poor use of english...that's if they could even use a computer. But they have a lifetime of hard work behind them, are very usefull at the important things in life - have a wide range of trades they are very competant at etc. They have also achieved alot through hard times, and are quite well off. That to me deserves alot of respect - more than some jumped up tw*t with an A in english, that he got from the private education that his parents paid for.

Again, there are also the people who have worked very hard after having a good start in life, and that is fair enough...but it annoys me to see people being slagged off or even told to leave the forum, because they use text speak. I think the people doing the slagging take themselves a bit too seriously.

ah andreew my fellow dj i am 24, not 22, lol. this fourth page has alot of valid posts on it and im glad people are sticking up for the original poster

as for the guy slating choc o brian....is there any need to bring a personal matter into this public forum? and even making a new account just for that purpose....i think you should stop pressing the refresh button on the control panel page which you probably do all day just waiting to personally slag someone off in a public forum about CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont you have a social life? you do know there is pornography on the internet nowadays aswell, so you dont have to spend all your time on here.

god some people you just think, why the hell even bother bringing it up

The flaming was a bit over the top, especially as holes can be picked in the spelling and grammar of nearly every subsequent post in this thread. However, I can see why people reacted the way they did. It's not a matter of the guy's education, intelligence or social status. It's simply that his question was sloppy, so he got a sloppy response.

That's if he wasn't just someone on the windup, of course. Light the blue touch paper and watch the action?

Just a thought...

I think the reason a lot of people just got instantly annoyed by stuart's original post, was the fact that it was such an easy question that obviously NO effort had been put into trying to answer before he came on here to ask about it. For example, if a newbie comes on here and asks a question which has already been covered thousands of times on here, people often find it a bit annoying that they haven't attempted to search for the answer, which would save all our time having to answer the same questions over & over again etc. That, combined with the way he was typing, just seemed to get to some people. I mean 'txt spk' came about for mobile phones obviously, and it was useful for typing messages quicker, and also being able to fit more into a message cuz you could save characters by abreviating words etc. When ur on a pc tho, with a lovely keyboard infront of you with all the letters there, and pretty much unlimited characters to type in your message.....there isn't really any need for it! I admit I use it for some words. For example I always type "ur" instead of "you're". But like, in a message like the original post, where pretty much every word has been abreviated or changed in some way, and you have to sit there and really concentrate so you can actually figure out what some of the words are........and then re-read it a few times because what he's saying doesn't make any sense anyway.....then it's understandably annoying to some people.

I gotta say I'm kinda on the fence on this one. I don't think stuart deserved the slating he got.....but at the same time.....I think he asked for it with an opening post like that, and can understand why it annoyed some people. I mean it annoyed me a tiny bit......what with the 'txt spk' which I hate trying to 'decode', the fact that there was no picture added or it was posted in the wrong section of the forum, the fact it was SUCH a simple question which a quick image search on google, or going outside to look at what was written on his car, would have probably answered it for him, and also, the way he asked the question seemed to have a little tiny bit of 'attitude' attached to it, which I don't think was needed. "Is it wr1 model or wot" is a bit....um.....abrupt? lol, I dunno. I'm thinking way too much about this! It's 2:24am and have just got in so probably shouldn't even be writing this! Am very sorry if I have offended anybody or said anything that's upset anyone. I hope I haven't! Oh, and sorry it's such a long message! I'm gonna shut up & go to bed now!

Maybe bein a noobie, you should have researched this eh?

Oh and by the way, I got an infraction for abusive/offensive post. Please point me in the direction of said abusive/offence

You need to learn to read mate, I was using this forum (just surfing with no account) long before you arrived. I remember when you first signed up - your grammer and spelling was not much better than the OP. You have only just started using I rather than i.

Like I said if you have nothing nice to say maybe you should go elsewere along with the rest the scooby bandwagon members.

Oh and who has been busy marking all the posts sticking up for the guy as negative?? someone needs to grow up...

just read the thread as breakfast entertainment...thank you for all those who contributed

My tuppence; this has been posted in the wrong section, non-existent grammar and atrocious spelling and finally (lets be honest now), a really stupid question about a car the OP claims to own...all designed to produce the 'discussion' that's been raging; probably.

Oh and monstermuncher, the forgotten password is a weak excuse. Why not sign off using your normal user name? I think it was all quite benign until you popped up...

To be honest, I think Stu was a wind-up merchant........ if I went on to a BMW forum and said 'I just bought a BMW.. is it an M3?' I would be rounded upon also.

EASY!

Yo, take a chill pill or someone gonna bus' a cap in yo ***!

Some of the replies to the OP seem a little harsh but fair, lot of adults and most people who stayed at school beyond the age of 13 can manage to speak and type the English language, not some b@stardised and lazy
so-called 'street' language of gangsta and London 'from da street' kid wannabees

I would have though the OP would have attempted to make a decent impression and you have to wonder what eh real motives are - my guess is a MASSIVE wind-up!

yO!

Love the fact that guy 'deansscooby' has started so many accounts just to get at me. Ah well, someone has too much time.

Scooblube, grammar yes, I didn't used to use much of it. But then I realised it doesn't take much effort to use grammar. Spelling, that's fine, but grammar, I'll agree. But only as I want to get a less physical pen pusher job
