I meant that as you had gone to the trouble of mentioning that monstermuncher wasn't your normal username you could have signed the post with your usual username.

To be honest i think so many of the comments about this post are absolute bollox, someone comes on an asks a question about there car. No insult is thrown by him an he's polite. Just because you know more about subarus an dont agree with the way he wrote you all start slating him.
Grow up for god sake, what does it achieve.
Are you gonna go to bed tonight feeling that much more masculine!
Everyone has to start from somewhere an to do so you have to ask question so why not just answer what he asked an give advice. Aint the nicest welcome to give is it

It's this simple........you don't buy an Impreza without knowing if it's a WR1 or not unless you are a complete fooking numpty!!
If you are a complete numpty and come on here asking if the car you have just spent your hard earned on is a WR1 or not, then expect to be flamed.
If you do come here and get flamed, expect some to defend you, and some to belittle you.
If you do get flamed, learn from it and adapt. If you don't, then take it that you are accepted into the fold.
If you take too seriously any comment on here, then expect any subsequent comments to be defended and/or ridiculed as appropriate.
If you resort to personal attacks on other posters, then shame on you....you fuking idiots!! It's an online forum for ***** sake....about cars!!! Get a life!!

I agree this guy has had a rough ride but there have been no racist remarks. If anything, it's a bit of old fashioned bullying.

Racists
As for bullying the guy opened himself up to ridicule and some folk decided to rip him.
fair do's, we are all adults.
some people had a dig some people defended him we are a diverse species.
I'm 37, i would prefer people to use, punctuation and give the text slang innit language a miss. As i find it diffcult to read and understand. its an age thing.
Stuart if you come back i'm sure you will be wholly accepted.

I take the **** as much as the next person, but this thread degenerated into a mob mentality and probably overstepped the mark.

This thread isn't a good advert for this site.
It seems to be bringing the worst out of everyone, and those that mean well are having to explain themselves over and over again.
If there are any newbies reading this...don't make your judgements on this site based on this thread alone.
There are a great amount of very helpful people on this site and I am glad to be a member.

I proudly own an impreza and have no idea what a WR1 is ?
after many months I now know a p22b ?? if I've got that right- is an old 2 door car made in the 90's.
I do know I'd really like an RB320 though or a GB270 sportwagon.
Am I getting there ?
mind you ask me anything about aircooled vw's and their history and i'll bore you to sleep.

thank **** i didnt get this much grief after my first post, subaru do so many different models that i searched the net for weeks before getting mine and recieved some good info on them from lots of different forums which is of great help to a newbie like myself.
lets not give the site a bad name, even if the op is a wind up the responses have have been rather sharp and will scare most newbies off.
just my tuppence for what its worth.
tony.
if you dont know the answer its not a easy question????

I'm sure no-one (and certainly not me) minds the odd bit of poor spelling, grammar, punctuation or anything like that. Dyslexia is fine, but a person with severe dyslexia would struggle to post something as un-intelligible as that. I don't think he is stupid, i dont think he is a 'chav'
I'm sorry, but its just lazy and rude. The guy is asking a question - basically asking for members to spend a bit of their own time to reply and help him out. If you have to read something 2 or 3 times over because he quite plainly can't even be bothered to try and illiterate then it's wasting your time.
Coming on the thread to simply have a go and take the pi$$ is a bit off, but many people (including myself) have offered some advice or help and also had a go about the posting style - which IMHO is fair enough!

god is this thread still open. up until last september when i first even decided to think about buying an impreza as my next motor, i never knew the models. My mate always used to bang on about getting a P1 but i never knew it was three door until i joined this site..... god i only knew they done wrx's and sti's and thats from playing video games! And even in some of the video games they are incorrect, i.e choosing a wrx on the game which has 3 doors?? thats confusing. But everyones a newb at one time, i thought imprezas only came with the bigger spoiler at the back if they were an import!!!!! This site does have some very helpful chaps and ladies on and im glad to be a member and to even give advice too, just no need for the amount of slating and rude comments given to the OP, wind up or not, maybe he was being serious? Hey maybe he has an actual problem or something none of us properly know, its discrimination. Amount of times someone has banged on about here about young chavs buying imprezas as they are now easier and cheaper to buy.......naming them chavs just because they have the windows down or wearing any sort of cap or hat, or the stereo blaring, lol. Im no chav and yeah im young, and damn right ill have the windows down when im driving blaring my music out, i dont care. I pay my road tax and own my car i can do what i want in it, only to be called a chav by some people on the site though is dusgusting, who knows what everyone is and who cares, just write a simple answer to the question or dont even bother commenting at all!
