Fair point
One thing the people who know me will agree on is that I am one of the most loyal people you will ever meet. I rarely let people down, and thus kind of expect vice versa.
With the two phantom ice cream deliverers, it was the lack of communication and not the money thing that annoyed me. The circumstance where they clearly knew but decided to make me find out myself by asking questions, especially when they live 5 mins walk away
Anywho, as said was a good night, but... could have been better with more blokey mates to laugh with.

Blame the times, or just the people, or both!

As some have said, either general idiocy on their part, or just not good mates - simple as I guess.

No, certainly not Les. If it were me (and I wish it was as I love Ice cream and need extra ££), I would have had the ******* decency to ring up and tell them both I couldn't make it. I wouldn't have waited for one of them to call me with only a few hours notice and then drop the news.

It was a funny post though...
It happens to me from time to time, Mr Chocolate. I am incredibly popular, financially viable, good looking and an excellent host. I often arrange nights out such as the one you mention above, but on occasion I am let down by people...
Karma is where it is at my forum friend The next time these "mates" are organising something, say you will go, let them count on you (pay your deposit for you - whatever), then at the last minute tell them there is a documentary on Discovery + 4 about carpet weaving (not munching they will want to come round and watch it with you ) and that you wont be able to make it... Or something like that, you get my drift
Soon you wont be mates anymore, just passing acquaintances in the local boozer and your ex mates will sit there, miserable, with holes in their souls, recounting stories of when you were all out together having fun together. They will come over to you weeping, begging for you take them under your wing and bosom again. You pretend to ponder, the music gets louder and louder as you caress your chin, then, then you hold aloft your arms and embrace them as they promise never to let you down again. Amongst the tears and yelping, you hear the rest of the customers in the pub cheer, and you look to see them hold aloft their glasses. The landlord shouts "next round on the house"!! You all order 4 babychams each, and sit together planning a night out to make up for the ones you have missed... You go home glowing, beaming from ear to ear.
Then the night comes. You have been waiting for, all four of you together on the town. You wait in the bar where you arranged to meet and on your third babycham, you send the same text to all 3 friends... All at once, the replied flood in - They were all out the night before, spent all their money and are too skint and tired to come out...
Oh bollox

lol I'd of made the travel for a night out andy! nothing more boring than going out with ur missus, their birthday or not
I agree though on useless mates, they SHOULD of let you know, no excuses. Waiting til YOU rang before they dropped the bomb is pretty selfish, especially as you've gone about planning it all and organising
Im usually the one who plans bloody everything with my group o mates, being also the dj to where they will probably always end up makes it easier i suppose!
But seperate nights, like a birthday when its planned, people should take care not to throw a spanner in the works, i completely agree

You have done nothing but bore everyone to tears with your financial situation. A situation of your own making, I hasten to add.
Now, speaking of 'mates' letting you down, and spilling your guts on a car forum, think on this
Not so long ago, a certain jug eared clot shared the plight of a dog, yes, a dog. In response to this dog's predicament, and despite (said jug-eared clot) having enough cash to run three sizeable vehicles, a collection was instigated for the poor unfortunate animal. The response was overwhelming and ran into thousands... everybody lived happily ever after!
Awww
And then there is you... and nobody is in the slightest bit interested in helping poor old chocolate_no_brains or his long suffering partner... speaks volumes, don't you think?
People let you down because you let yourself down. Grow some ***** and stop whining like a bitch.

.oik,
I must ask you to re-evaluate your post. This sort of content might have been acceptable back in the days when free exchange, humour and a sharp wit was encouraged and appreciated on here. However, this community is now for banal, simpering sycophants who have neither the intelligence, nor the bottle, to defend themselves.
These people are too simple to look after themselves, so we have them pay us to provide a system with which we can protect them from their own stupidity.
To this end I have added an infraction to your account which will expire when dullards like chocolate_no_brains and their like cease paying me to make this site more nauseating than it has ever been before.

That was gradually eradicated about 18mths ago as Webby prep'd the site for sale. Most of the characters have sadly been culled and foolish souls like me drop in most days with the vain hope that one or two may return. The funniest posts I've read in a while (apart from SwissTony's sidesplitters, of course) were those deleted above. C'est la vie.

As soon as PH sold it was obvious where we were heading.
