I,d really love a set of AP,s first, as i,ve said the brakes aren,t the best imo, trouble is, a map/exhaust/ service and brakes you,re talking over 3k straight away..
Decisions... brakes first, remap later, or vise- versa...

Ours was remapped by Richard Bulmer with a Hydra ECU.
It is completely mental. So much so that I am probably going to sell the Exige because it now feels too tame...
In fact I'll be at Rockingham on the 19th with both cars to see:
1) just how good the Spec-C is and
2) if the Lotus can justify its place in the garage.
Would be cool if there were two Toshi Arai V-Limited Spec-Cs there. There are only 3 in the country apparently. (They were named "V-limited" by the way even though it became a meaningless tag)
(PS I'm surprised about the brakes comments as I find they are excellent)

Have to agree the standard brembo setup on my Spec C is very good (albeit running PF pads) they stood up more than adequately at Nurburgring this year and also a couple of other trackdays in the UK

Reason for being here : Wanted to see what you'd bought.
TVR going Very Well, and quite a tool. Not too refined, but certainly goes well. Low mileage, but that means nothing on a TVR, it could go pop anytime.......LOL, so need to keep a little savings handy, but that's TVR ownership. When your in it, and it's all going well, you forget about all the horror stories, and it's all worthwhile. 0 - 60 in 3.8, 0 - 100 in 8.3, and faster than a Porsche GT3 to 100mph. And capable of 180mph (Wouldn't want to be in one at that speed though), took it to 158 (On GPS) and was frightened it was going to fall apart. My kinda car though. Just need to change one wheel bearing and one drive shaft, and then it'll stop trying to shake it's self to pieces at 150.

Sounds mental Jim, that,s a VERY quick 0-100 mph time..
Jim, can you PM me when you have you know what please so i know it,s arrived with you............

Yep..........It's quick, 380bhp Red Rose Conversion by TVR Power, in 1100kg.
No Probs........Just thought you'd forgot. I probably would too if I'd bought a scooby like that. Nothing in the world would matter.
I'm a "Closset" scooby fan, but don't tell anyone.

Went in Captain Mike's EVO FQ, but never had a ride in a scooby. But love watching the good ones (Properly Sorted......which normally turn out to be the standard ones, with a decent suspension and good tyres) at track days and especially at the Time Attack Events.
TVR is just sheer awesome power. Lots of leather and nicely carpeted interior, but whoever built the interiors forgot to put any underfelt or sound deadening material under the carpets, they're just glued/laid directly onto the shell. (Another thing to add to the winter modification plans). NO refinement what so-ever. Girlfriend was going to buy an Intercom Pack for us, so that we can talk to each other while were in it (Can't hear yourself talk at anything close to a 100).
I told her not to bother, I preferred the sound of the engine to her voice........LOL.

Pete,
You really don't need the standard brembo's changing for road use and in reality should not be a priority in my opinion for this level. My standard RS500 brakes were fine at 500bhp on the road.... as long as I stamped on the things when giving it some.lol Pro-longed on and off from high speed, kills standard brakes, but I can not see you doing much of that on the public roads around here. Getting the car on track and getting the best out of it is a different story though.
I have taken an expensive, but modular route to modifying over the years and imo, I would get the remap done at the very least (even with the standard exhaust on if you are not flush). It will ensure you are 100% safe for the fuel and also unleash a few g - g's.
Spend the money you will save on buying the go faster bits at this stage, by fitting a whiteline handling kit comprising of front and rear ARB and anti-lift kit with geometry set-up. Be rest assured, this is probably one of THE BEST mods you can do to a Scoob..... regardless of model (Newage). If you think the handling is good now, wait until you get that done!!
I've been there and done it all, so take some solice that the knowledge you can learn has been at the expense of my back pocket!
Have a chat with Iain about these Spec C's and what should be done (if you want assurance). He probably has more experience / knowledge of these road going cars in UK, than anyone.

Shaun,
Thanks for that advice fella, really appreciate it, what kind of power level would i see if it was mapped with the Exhaust on it now then Shaun??
I,ve priced up a Miltek 3" system for it, the prices differ with sports cat and none cat, but what about MOT`s if you go the un-cat route??
Shaun..
PM me your mobile number if you would be kind enough, better to chat that way, i,ve got TOO many questions..

I have about 100 dyno printouts from all the staged conversion work done, give me a minute.....
3" decat with a K&N panel filter - 353bhp (on Optimax at the time)
If you don't want any hassle come MOT time, then a sports cat is the way forward. With one of the sport cats that Litchfield sell (100 cell one), you will not lose any performance. I will soon be moving back to a sports cat on my car.

Staffi as has already been said get it mapped first as for brakes unless you are competing all the time AP's are overkill for a mainly road use car I have on mine PF disks and running the o1 pads front and back perfect for hard road use and brilliant on track best of both worlds and at a cheaper price,Shaun will have a lot of advice which I would heed as he has said earlier there has been more things tried and tested on that car of his than anything elseunless your name is Steve beatty who is a close contender on changing bits and pieces on their cars

Poor old Pete!
His brain must be running in warp mode. He don't know what to buy and whether to keep checking on here for advice, or get his car keys and keep blowing his brains driving his new car.
What a position to be in!

I thought the brakes were no good when I first bought my Spec c, inquired & decided to get Performance Friction pads immediately. But then after some advice from a subaru specialist I did some brake testing on a private road! I discovered the brakes were excellent but are quite progressive & not servoed much at all. When you get used to this you will be astounded by how good they are for road use. Then last month at Silverstone found out that I could outbrake most cars out there with this std setup mainly due to the little inertia this lightweight car develops upon braking. (Just changed fluid to Motul RBF 500 IIRC). But eventually when pads wear out I will upgrade to Performance Friction ones & eventually maybe discs to when they go. IMO calipers are fine for my useage of a few track days a year & budget.
