I just can't get on with the stock brembo calipers , pf discs and carbotech pads
I run in the msa sprints/ Simply not good enough, I am a late braker and stamp on themi do not like the noise of the milltek exhaust, way to quite,
Rob has the rcm exhaust on his spec c with no back box, The sound is immensem after 6000rpm its mental

Interesting point about the Miltek, I was wondered what would be a good alternative to the Miltek Twin scroll exhaust system. Fujitsubo is quality but too expensive. Maybe a RCM with a decat would be good.
For MSA sprints Im sure you need the APs or some other bad boys!!

Regarding the exhaust robs is 108db static at 4000rpm, He runs on the rd without rear seats, Fantastic,
If you ever go in say a new golf/focus etc, you wull no how bad the stock brakes are, Not 1 bit sharp on an evo/scooby,
I prefer the over servod type,
When rob ran the rear silencer it was only 96db at 4000rpm,
You get what you pay for pete, Not sure on the price around £800 if i remember

What i don;t understand is some of you guys buy a spec c , more hard core scooby, Then you want a quite exhaust
These are rd going group n rally cars,
Alot would be better off with a jdm scooby, To be honest you would struggle to tell the diff, I push cars really hard on the rd/sprints/dragging

I've got a full RCM system fitted to my Spec C. The quality and fit is excellent and it's not that loud either. I've got the system with the centre silencer and the normal back box and it's spot on. I would have liked something louder but I would like to do some track days so I can't have anything too loud. Also, I came from a P1 with a Blitz Nur Spec R so I've kinda been through the phase of having a really loud exhaust.

My car is far from user friendly even with no back seats and a yoghurt pot for a drivers seat and yet ive had a system made thats 91.5dB static for track use

pete, The firestorm on the evo is nothing to these rcm exhaust mate, You would not no it was running next to these systems with no boxes,,
Rob gets away with it with a bung for some sprints,,
I was more referring to spec c to jdm as a car not the noise,

Some of us are all over the noise thing though!! ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
I had a ScoobySport exhaust on when I was twin scroll. It was the loudest system I have ever heard from within the car (but that is what I asked for at the time). It measured 105db INSIDE the car at high revs and was 117db outside.
It was that loud, you could not have a conversation in the car unless you shouted. Whilst this did what I wanted it to do at the time, how bad was that for my hearing.... What did you say!!!! ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
This gives you some sort of idea of how loud this system was (even if the wind was blowing in the opposite direction). At the end of the day, the sound meter don't lie, and I ended up buying one to keep tabs on the noise level.![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Seeing as noise is now a major problem, when running your car on track, it is no longer an option for me to have a system like this. My current Miltek is quiet in comparison, but is still 102db on static 3/4 revs test. It was certainly loud enough (well over 102db on drive-by) for me to get ejected from Dono in July. That was with only 1bar of boost, 6degs of ignition retard and a mullered turbo.
The days of loud pipes for no gain is all over for me. I want something that at least means I can run on a track without kerbing my power.
I have since discovered that the reason why my current Miltek system is so loud, is because I am running no centre resonator..... so that will be sorted over the next month.

I better be careful then as im getting into trackdays now since getting my Spec C a year ago and im about to fit the RCM system with the silenced backbox, the centre and downpipe are full decat (no resonator) so it will be interesting to see how loud it is.I might have to get a bung made up or fork out for the resonated centre ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
we shall see

I'm also going to a 100cell sports cat. No worthy difference in performance and should make it quieter still. Obviously saves on other *issues* as well.

Shaun,
So the video clip is with the Scoobysport system on??
I,ve priced the RCM System up with the team ice back-box. £680 delivered.. didn,t think that was too bad..

Paul,
The only race circuit I have managed to use this year where noise is not so much of a problem (105db static test) is Snetterton. But as you say, it all depends on what use for the car you intend and at what venues...... or if you are a chav.
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Pete,
Yes... that is my car, 2ltr twin scroll, with a full turbo back SS exhaust. That had no resonator in the centre or downpipe section and used a smaller than conventional backbox. It's all described and shown in the Articles section here (Stage 1) https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...roduction.html

I was thinking about this thread while driving today
.
The Miltek is (which I have with high flow cat) good exhaust to live with on a day to dday basis, at low revs and with no burble its not a problem, you can cruise around town without people turning their heads and scaring old grannies...if however you want it loud then rev over 6000rpm and you wake the neighbourhood
On the track I learned that there's no need to really rev it that high as with standard turbo etc its all noise anyway after 6500rpm-7000rpm, early change up keeps the power on and boost going harder, only when down shifting did it make a noise......someone did say however that my car sounded like a "proper race car"..........i was like "what you do mean?"..all the other the motors make a "deep loud noise.....your one just screams"
