Dave, cant you slip a sleeping tablet in her drink before the games kick off?
Or on kinder note, the only other thing you can do is try to talk to her about it and ask her to watch it with you if you are at home. Try to make her enjoy it.
If all else fails, go for the tablets.

Of course you are not going to ditch her. The comment was to put the whole football obsession into context. If football and poker are your only social interests (neither of which appear to include the woman you love) then you need to find others which you can both enjoy.
I didn't say that you should drop the whole football thing, just put her first.
The solution is that you are going to have to change.
Let me ask this question - which is more important to you? The football or the woman?

I'd suggest Dave's inability to understand why some people don't like football is at the route of his "problem"

My one and only "proper" football match, Hearts v St. Johnstone, 1975 I think, mutton pies and Bovril, freezing cold, a proper punch-up on the pitch, one player sent off, or rather dragged of by the stewards, and a streaker with big ***** and Daz blue white skin. I was yelling "Come on Hearts" at the top of my voice, St. Johnstone won

I still don't quite get football - been going for a year now just to keep my wife happy - she & my son love it and want to go as a family so me & my daughter put up with it.
However, ice hockey - there's a decent spectator sport - none of that prima donna stuff or flailing around if another player gets too close.

Dave, it's possible that your girlfriend may have one (or all) of these problems:
1. lacking your reasonable attention
2. not enjoying something called football, as it's not her cup of tea
3. wanting you to participate in something she might like to instigate, and enjoy e.g. Corrie or Sadenders![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Be mindful. Not easily done than said, but worth trying a few things in relation with above. I quite like STIwanna's suggestion of taking her to a match too

Dave why not compromise. Get Sky installed at home so you can watch the game and spend time with her. As an extra treat for her and to show her how much you love her let her give you a blow job at half time. I know it's a sacrifice but I'm sure backing down like that would mean the world to her.
