Harvey Ported & Wrapped Headers? Opinions Please

If you only have the headers and not the up-pipe then there are good gains to be had from fitting the up-pipe but as there are also signifigant changes to the collector then the collector should be changed at the same time for best gains. I think you must have MK1 ported headers only because at that time there were no special up-pipes.
We can arrange to swap over the collector FOC if you buy the up-pipe. I suggest you e-mail me and we can tie up the detail.

Horses for courses. Most fabricated tubular manifolds are poor and they wont last long before breaking, whether they actually give any performance benefit or not. Tubular manifolds that are beneficial and durable are expensive and for many people they arent necessary.

Dan : Jiff Jaff did not have a set of exchange headers so it also included supplying him a set of second hand headers.
The cost is actually £369 which includes the new uppipe, removing lugs from the old headers and dressing them. The porting work. Then DEI heat wrapping the whole lot. Anybody that wants to save money can cut off their own lugs and dress their own headers and if they really want to save money they can do their own heat wrapping.
DEI is expensive wrap but it lasts and it has very good thermal property which is why I use it.

Granby : Hi Ian. I had forgotten you had headers only and no uppipe. If you buy an uppipe £139 I will cover postage and at the same time I will give you a collector to the latest specification FOC but I want your old one back. You are then responsbile for getting the uppipe and collector fitted and sending me the old one back (collector). You can then independently assess the improvements in performance and post on here.
If you weren't so far away I would swap the uppipe and collector for you for nothing. Of course you could still come up for bacon butties !!!

Well all I can say is, I sent my headers up for exchange a couple of years ago and got back a full ported and wrapped job plus 'Harvey' wrapped up-pipe and I've been very happy. And it definitely didn't cost anywhere like £400.
Bit unfair to gripe about the price when a lot of that is supply of the actual headers in the first place. It's like complaining that a recon gearbox or a 20G turbo was expensive because you didn't have anything to exchange for it. And let's be clear, porting and grinding off lugs on a cast iron set of headers is not a fun job, even if you have the tools and the spare time. I do almost all my work myself, but that's one thing I did not want to do. Porting aluminium is a totally different game.

Sorry when you say collector do you mean the rest of the headers
I have a VF34 at the moment but might go for a TD05 sometime, will this make any difference to the up-pipe
Bacon butties

Hi Ian : The collector is the section at the bottom of the uppipe that joins to the cylinder head on the drivers side and takes the cross pipe from the exhaust on the passenger side. By changing the collector to the latest design which I am happy to do for you FOC and fitting one of my uppipes there are gains for you to have and you can post on here what your findings are when you have done it.
Now if you are prepared to get here I am prepared to fit the uppipe for nothing and give you the latest collector in exchange for your existing one.
Normally we would charge £70 but I will do it for you for nothing so that is a good way towards your fuel cost getting here and anyway, in your area, the charge for fitting an uppipe is likely to be a lot more than £70 so it is starting to look viable and bacon butties can be free too
So to clarify, it costs you £139 for a new purpose designed uppipe and that is all you will pay and this uppipe will be good for anything like VF34/35, TD05 18G and TD05 20G.
Also I can supply you with either of these turbos at very good price.

Yes of course the collector and uppipe would be wrapped because that is integral to extracting best performance. You pay for the uppipe £139 and I will look after the rest and you will not be disappointed.
