good point!! forgot abpout that. the airbox i had( slightly different to urs visually but maybe not for fixings) had 2 or 3 not quite sure one 13mm i think on the side towards the headlight and one towards bulkhead, not sure if there is one towards wing. will need a socket extension.

just looked at your pics and yours is square where as mine was rectangular. so positions and nut size migh be different.

I removed the inner snorkel and ran some pipe from the air box, to were the original snorkel went in the engine bay.

Just done a search on this site, and gutted to find although it makes more noise, it's been proven to be a loss of power rather than a gain! :O thoughts please!!

Just removed my snorkel and ran a pipe to were it meets in the engine bay.

Drove the car for about 100 miles.

Iv put the snorkel back.

Liked the sound of my dump valve but the car seemed slower.

It still pulled and was fast, just didnt have that feeling that it wanted to rip the wheels of like normal.

Asked the mrs and even shes said it didnt feel the same.

Car back to normal now.

Maybe its because it was sucking warm air from the engine bay??

See that wasn't the original question was it?

It's pretty easy to blank the engine from the airbox area. Some ally sheet or carboard or summat. Plenty of places to feed cold air in, seal around headlight, foglight, grill, rad grill, snorkel aperture. A bit of confidence is needed OP, look at it and apply common sense

When I first started doing things like this I couldn't find my **** with both hands, but after years of buggering it up... You can do it, just look carefully and think about what's needed
