The man to ask about this is called ethanrob I believe...
He did a similar mod to his front lights that looked spot on, I don't think you can buy the actual inserts, I think he designed them for his own lights, could be wrong though...

When I had my classic, I said I'd never buy a newage, then went out and bought a bugeye STi........ then when the hawkeye came out, I said I'd never buy one and guess what happened.....

I agree with the OP. When launched I couldn't get my head round all the different front ends and headlights that Subaru kept grafting onto the Newage, but now that the saloon is gone, I think the Hawkeye will be remembered as the best-looking. Although it's all relative.
Most people find the Classic is prettier, but I always think a rally-style car should have flared wheel arches like the Newage, so it could only be a 22B for me, if I was going down the Classic route.
