Thanks nathan, would say we'd have a chat, but doubt I'd be to complis mentis at those times! cheers though.
earlier, maybe 10, 11 and 12 might be good as we think it was around 11ish when it happened. not that I'm telling anyone how to do thier job or anything

I might remove my vent covers then...
Can you fit a sensor light to the front of the house so if anyone walks near the car they get lit up?? they are fairly cheap from B&Q...
could even go one step further and wire this to switch on you bedroom light too... might be worth a delay on the bedroom light though,... so if outside light on for more than 30seconds then your bedroom light comes on?
Excellent............

JGM good idea! think I'll talk to my dad about this (his house after all - yes I'm a sad boy living at home with parents, but hey, it's cheap! )
Would be good, also thinking about mini CCTV thingy.
the things we have to do eh? and I thought this only happened to other people! goes to show you doesn't it.

No point rushing out of the parents home...
you'll end up like me... living as a parent!
wouldn't have it anyother way mind... just amazing to look back...
things go very fast.
Thought about CCTV in the car, but then if the car got nicked you wouldn't have the pictures...

They are meant to be sending me a claim form, but I left before the postman arrived this morning, so don't know if it's turned up.
I am expecting it to take quite some time to sort out though, but if they do pay up then it will be worth it.

update
not that anyone gives a toss but I thought I'd post an update.
Well, I've got a claim form from the council, which is good, I'm filling it in. I'm also waiting for 2 quotes from garages for aproximate cost of repairs.
Plus I've also found someone selling a brand new, boxed alloy bonnet, for a rather cheap price, so I'm biting that persons arm off as I type.
hopefully, in the near future, the car will be back to it's former glory.
thanks for all the support, and to those who helped out (you know who you are ) thanks.

Yup, they had a chap out the morning I took photos. this chap, who might have been from the council's contractors was not best impressed I was taking photos, and wanted to know why, I breifly said why, and he said I could not prove a thing, hmm, think he might realise that if it was him that did not clear up his mess then he's about to get a boot up the ***!
I'm also speaking to the CAB to see what thier take is on this, and if they reckon my claim is worth it and whether it might suceed. Plus I'd like to know what to do if the council turn round and tell me to get stuffed.

Tell me about it, not happy. trying not to think how much a respray of bonnet, and scoop will cost.
Trying to work out if this is a jealousy attack or if someone is pissed off with me. So hopefully, if that's the right term to use, it's just a one off, if not then I could be looking at more damage. Suffice to say I'll be keeping my eyes open tonight and if anyone breathes near the car they'll get a warning.
**** Edited by me to remove my allegation that a person i may have pissed off might have had something to do with this. This was put in as a 'red-mist' type thing, not meant to be hurtful but in these things you do initiall wonder if it's someone you pissed off, and I had, regardless of what they said, pissed them off, or at least, upset them a great deal ****

Thanks guys and girls
Anyone want to stump up some bail money and a good lawyer for when I lay my hands on the gits?
[ Edited to put guys and girls, because I don't want to offend Kim ]

Once again thanks for the nice words guys and gals.
A little update for you.
I've been to the garage (GDA Sports Cars) and Graham has had a look and says it's new bonnet time and it IS an ally bonnet, which I was never really sure about. Anyway, looks like £1000 for bonnet, fix of scoop (he said it was fixable) and respray, so bad, but not too bad.
Also, we had closer look and noticed **** off big dent in bonnet as well, and also scratches on windscreen and passenger a-pillar, so it might not have been a scum attack trying to nick the scoop, might have been something thrown/blown which dented the bonnet and scoop, then bounced and scratched the screen and a-pillar. I'm not convinced by this, but does seem weird to have the scratches on the screen and a-pilar.
Anyway, what's done is done, lets hope they don't come back.
Hopefully getting it fixed next week, which is good as I'm oop north on tues and wed on business, so won't need the car.
The scooby community is like and extended family when crap like this happens, that's why I love it so much.
will post pics tomorrow for you to at!
