Dont like them two would go for a 04/05 sti if i had that money or you could save £££££ if you went for a classic sti import.
Just got a 96 classic wrx sti with 70k on the clock very clean in white for the grand some of £2300 runs like a dream very happy

It's a modified WRX and not actually an STi ....... I run a shade over 400BHP on my 02 bugeye WRX so the BHP is correct for the mods he describes

Each to his own regarding colour......I personally like white

sorry about all the questions im fairly new to them.

I modified my WRX because I bought it without knowing "what was what" a few years ago......If I was starting over again I'd buy an STi LOL

Standard bugeye UK BHP = 215 BHP so my WRX (and the one in the advert) have had *a lot* of things done to them...that's why the £6k price gets you so much.

Downside is that they do need a lot of TLC.

If you are unsure as to what you are looking at then I'd get something a bit nearer standard. I'll have a look and see what £6k ish buys you on the Blobeye STi front

what extras wont you get with the wrx that you will get with a sti, would i notice any diffrence.

Subaru : Subaru WRX Prodrive

Newer model STi with Prodrive Performance pack........slightly over budget though.

Don't confuse BHP with drivability / enjoyment. My car was much more fun to drive when it had 100 BHP less as it didn't spend it's time trying to kill me LOL

For your budget this would be my weapon of choice

MY02 STi Prodrive Style PPP 305 BHP

2002 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX-STI PRODRIVE BLACK on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 20-Oct-08 20:00:00 BST)

They only ever made 100 of them (I think Eddscott mentioned this model yesterday)

Without question, if I were buying a Newage and had £7k it would be the above. My only issue is that its £400 to tax which is a pure rip off and another reason to stay with classics.

Not all Newages are £400. Some of the first bugs are pre 2001 and some imports are based on CC rather than Co2.

If I could choose any bug it would be a JDM Bugeye "Prodrive Style" - IIRC it looks almost the same as our Prodrive but is based on an RA shell (roof vent)

Only seen one outside Gran Turismo and I don't know if it got past SVA.

Nope......the pics in the advert show a bog standard blobeye STi and not a WRX with an STi engine

Scam AFAIK !!

Eddscott is on the ball.....the JDM "prodrive style" is a real killer if you could find one

How about trying to find a Classic ? Plenty of STi version V's around LOL

Just re-read the sellers details........he has swapped the gearbox and the interior so might well be a WRX modded into an STi.

I just wondered why he did it LOL

Just logged on to SN as the kids are in bed LOL

I'd be a bit unsure as to why someone would try and make a Blobeye WRX into a Blobeye STi ..

That top one is just a wrx with all the sti bits on, not an STI, they only made them in black, blue and silver on 02/52 plates, so give that one a miss, if your after an STi ensure its a pure out of the factory version, not some hyped up wrx

Look at these better examples

NICK JOHNSON MOTOR COMPANY : WRX STi V7
Subaru : IMPREZA WRX Sti V7 - JDM - 27,000 MILES

And barter with them, you can probably knock more money off both of those
