They will tail off higher up the rev range, then when you shell out £1,600 for PPP you really feel like you've got something, rather than feeling it should have came like that

Not owned a FF but i've had Type r's for the last 4 years and i'm seriously looking to buy an 08 STI within the next few months.
Subaru seem to be following the masses with the introduction of the hatch, it's pretty clear that in Europe medium size Hatch's sell alot more than saloons and Subaru are trying to crack that market, however in Japan they much prefer a saloon.

It's the same reason why Honda haven't brought the JDM Civic (FD2) to our shores as it's a saloon despite it's performance beating the pants off our civic (FN2) yet the FN2 has out sold the ST, GTI, VXR etc....

I very nearly bought an 07 STI but i had to get a hatch for the dog, so the 08 suits me.

Maybe, but it's entirely possibly i could go into the dealers with every intention of buying an 08 and driving away with an RB320!

I like the practicality of the hatch, I'm afraid I have no feelings that for 'heritage' reasons the 08 should be a saloon.

And you could argue they should run like the PPP is fitted as standard but this has never really been the case for uk/eu models.

I'm tempted to look at non-ppp remaps... open to ideas

Kinda wish I'd got those wheels on mine, the GT1's are a pig to keep clean and gold shows all the brake dust Oh and I thought the 330S had fog lights, not that it would be a deal breaker, like the Recaros.

had my first run in a 08 sti today. Loved it. May not be as quick as the old shapes. But i prefer the seating position you can get.

Just got to get the right one. Cant afford a brand new one. Looking for somit under 25.

needs some cross drilled brakes behind the 18s

Your joking!!!! 14.5K.

Need to do mine trade cos Ive been struggling to sell my 182 clio. So that'll atleast get it down a bit. Just need to keep hunting. Got insurance sorted out. £650 not bad for a 24yr old with 3pts and 5NCBs.

The spec you've got is pretty much what im after. You got the front splitter and rear exhaust surrounds??

wish I was joking, he reckoned I might get it to £15K. This, he said, was a Subaru main dealer and he tried an independant specialist. Not got the splitter or exhaust surrounds but did add the dealer fit subwoofer which gives the standard sound system a half decent tone to it.

Needless to say I couldn't take a £11K hit in 6 months... I don't think the high co2, fuel costs and general economy is helping... it's a buyers market.

You're not serious are you? I guess in the trade they would call that a **** off price, They didn't want it and new you wouldn't sell.

£14.5K I can't get my breath.

I'd been working on a p/x price of maybe £18k before I went and that, I thought, was conservative.... so I figure I'll keep it and mod it and see what the market is like next year.

The Mini was only part of my plan. I wanted to get a motorway mile muncher (and diesel) for work and the Mini for weekends/trackdays etc.

I'm not surprised that sales are down for Subaru. The current crop of cars are bland and the response by the public can be seen in terms of sales. I hadn't seen a new STI in the flesh until I went to the Paris motor show last Monday. My god what a bland car from any angle, I tried desperately to like it, but just couldn't bring myself too. The car just isn't an event, Subaru’s should be IMHO. Compared to the Hawkeye and Blobeye STI it just looked lame.

Surprising that ~400 more people bought the civic over the focus

Have a look at the link below from the US. Basically the guy thinks that Subaru have stepped up the ECU and when the tuners have remapped, as they have done many time on the previous ECUs, this results in the ring land failing on the piston.
Thanks,
Paul.
