Spec C Internals??

Interesting comments, but considering you use your car on track, are you saying you have never had fade?
Are you using proper bells and rotors now, or a one peice disc?
Are you saying that a car with AP 6pots (or equivalent) will have the same braking performance and feel as your standard Brembo set-up?
This is not me taking the mick mate ( and trying to make you look stupid ), but I am genuinely interested in your comments.

Still never had fade with the std Brembo calipers.
Admittedly I use Performance Friction 2 piece discs and PF 01 Race Pads for serious track stuff (PF Z pads for road and ring) but not a trace of fade and good enough to lock them at the end of sessions on Sunday. They have got very hot though and the calipers are now brown and the writing black since I borrowed the ducting for oil cooler and induction
I cant compare directly to AP's but if mine are strong enough to induce ABS and have never faded then I cant see at this stage why AP's would be better unless they are going to magically find some extra grip in the tyres.

Std Brembos are up to the job with proper discs and pads. No point in changing to AP's unless you want to spend the money.
Still running std brembos on mine.
Power - dont get greedy - stick with the std turbo and set yourself a ceiling of 400 even though the std turbo wont get there.
Getting over 400 bhp gets very very expensive. It is right at the sort of point where a lot of things are at or approaching their limit so you have to do them all.

Im hoping to get to between 360 to 370 bhp in the future with mods as mentioned on std turbo; keep Brembo calipers & change discs & pads to performance friction; may change to Eibach springs; not sure about thicker rear ARB & ALK as daily road car. Then after all that; then consider turbo options maybe if I feel I must have more power !!

No manufacturer is the best, as they are all the same deisgns imo. I have Whiteline kits on mine, but you have Perrin etc etc. It's up to you who fits it.
Remember the geometry is as important, and I would suggest you do go to someone that knows about this and how to set it up right. In that area I would certainly suggest PowerStation, based on my experience.

Just addressing the OP's question, isn't it the case that the standard pistons are the weak point (as alway's with subaru, lol)..?
IIRC they're prone to 'nipping'..? I've been told that they're more prone to this than 'lesser' models, due to the tighter tolerance..?
I know RCM tend to see a few of these..!
Brake wise, certainly with the std setup, I know I can easily out-brake a 350+ spec c in my 05 WRX fitted with AP 4pots. So they do need some attention, just a question of whether you need a kit or just bells/rotors and pads..?
Finally, I'd have to add that running around 350-370 a spec c is a very potent road car..

Pete,,
You ask alot of questions for a brummie,,
Rob;s has walked 430bhp for many miles and lots of sprints/dragging,
Even runs it on the nos for abit more power and torque,
There is no defo answer as it can go at any time,
Can staffi beat a clio , I doubt it

pete,
Im sure bob will look after you. make sure you get him to use the mega rom facilities.
Paul,
I need to get rich to set the car up with me, at a quiet day at avon park. I might have to let you have a go to get a good time. Lol
Down with rich later today to pick the car up, so might see you down there.. Assuming you have not picked your car up yet.
