Oh, and they do look cool
Newage Sti Intercoolers are suppose to be good for at least 450, isn't that the scoop on classic's that only work properly up 100mph.

Hmmm, you maybe right, the newage ones is a bit on the large side so may be just classics and bugeye?

I was told a long time ago by some of the techies on 22B.com the whole 100 mph thing was nonsense... I think it has more to do with the fact that the intercooler is small as is the scoop and when on full boost at high speeds it simply can't dissapate the heat effectively...

The V7-9 STi TMIC can take upto 450 BHP but you still have to deal with the unfortunate heat soak effect you get with every TMIC... FMIC's are the way forward if you want big BHP + safety!!! With the bigger turbos I would worry too much about lag, LOL!!!

I'll sort the headers and up-pipe out before the FMIC I think, need quicker spool-up With the winter coming I don't think I'll have too much of a problem with getting cold air in (unless we have a freak heatwave )

So, Headers, up-pipe, injectors then a map tweak before xmas

FMIC for next summer

you might aswell have a front mount at the same time.......... saves paying twice for a map........ !!!

you know it makes sense !!

you don't get lag with a FMIC, if mapped correctly

are we all just number chasing ?

If your car is in the HIGH 300's ..... to then spend LOADS to just break into the 400 HP club isn't a massively noticeable jump....... you need to be going 450 + to have a decent return on your investment !!

Not really number chasing, just want a car that's an good all rounder, when I've finished the mods (if they'll ever end) I'll be a happy bunny

As Simb says, need to get the torque up

you'll start all over again if you 2.5....... !!

you're best off saving and having it done first.....

otherwise you'll be throwing money out the window.... paerticularly having remaps every 5 mins for each new upgrade.... thats money towards the new engine !!

PPG gearbox time !!

It is to do it safely... I am just about to break it in style myself and the cost has been stupid... It's not just all the things you think of that cost the money, it's all the things you don't think of LOL...

Wish I had just been happy with 320 BHP...
