It rained to much yesterday i did not have time to get the induction kit fitted, going to leave work early today and fit and take some snaps, the 90 deg hose may be a reall good idea as I am now thinking of buying that 18g td05 andy f ported from calssified section! As its front mount all I will need to do is modd the intake pipe! Good job I bought 2 then aint it

Ok i got back from work and buy the time i had put the new front lip on and the new hks induction kit it was dark, good job camera got a flash!
got to say i am fcking chuffed because the car sounds awsome with induction kit and runs much BETTER IN FACT ITS PULLING LIKE A TRAIN , i had already fitted the 90 deg silicon pipe and car was runing sooo much better than before, i have opened the top grill on the side of the induction kit to help with cool air, when you floor it you hear it sucking sounds like its trying to suck the whole world in!

Be careful with that, MAF and air filter dont like getting wet. Also, the vents actually serve no purpose for cooling or air intake. I believe from what i've read in other posts that they were fitted for the WRC homologation purpose.

Nice job by the way

The ideal thing is to enclose the cone filter in a self-fabricated, fully airtight 'box' of a bad heat-conducting material e.g. plastic/plexiglass, etc. Then you need to run an airtight tube from the front fog area into the side of the enclosure (so that the force-fed air hits the filter area of the IK). It would be best to funnel this join i.e. so it tapers out from the tube onto the enclosure.

The enclosure will keep the hot under-bonnet temps out whilst, at the same time, keeping the fed cold air in. This fresh cold air, in conjunction with the cone filter's greater air-filtering capacity, should properly net you some worthwhile bhp... But more importantly, will give you a sharper throttle response and better drivability (plus a fab sound).

You've demonstrated in the thread that you're the practical type... so do it!! (Available space is your enemy though ).

I Have seen a metal tube (like a tumble drier hose) i could mount this and run it to the original intake in the wing! what about enclosing the hks in my old airbox with a few modifictions?
like you say would feed cold air in and keep out the heat from engine!

Yeah definitely. If you've got the room to, then reusing the old airbox with the tumble dryer hose going to it will be sooo much better than leaving the cone open to the hot temps. Go for it...

N.B. Whatever you use, make sure that the filter and its join to the MAF flange do not take any strain of the airbox's weight - this could knacker the MAF, which you defo don't wanna do! ... Fashion some supporting brackets if you have to.
