Are you trying to say you can't currently play 360 and pc games online together or are you saying it's easier on a pc, the reason i ask is because certain titles are already cross platform on pc and 360?

i think you can play shadowrun 360 vs pc ?
not that it helps much because its crap, but i do recall the devs saying they had to handicap the pc users a bit as the mouse was far to easy to use![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
it turns out that the missus is indeed going out this weekend so i`m going to the games shop later to have a little look![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
just realised its half term next week as well, she is going back to her dads to look after her little sister for a few days = result

Im personally about to delve back into the console world and purchase a PS3 now Ive got a decent tv. My mate has started a contract for Sony now and should be getting staff discount. So Im hoping that combined with a possible price drop with the release of the 160gb model will bring it down to a decent price.

so, back to original topic - despite some TV adverts that have been running all week for Far Cry saying stating 'out now' I see its not out until tomorrow.
Will pop into game and pick me up a copy - had a look on YouTube and some of the gameplay vids look pretty cool - got some nice innovative touches (i.e guns that eventually seize and break, as with vehicles, mending broken bones, plus wounding a soldier in the distance only for his mate to come and drag him to safety)
Also been looking at Bioshock - seems to be qa must have but for some reason Ive never played or bought it

Prefer FPS games like cod 4 on the PC then the console version - im in leagues like enemy down and clanbase - do consoles do that?
also mouse and keyboard every time for that type of game, teamspeak/vent is also another better factor and the ability to easly find 1 of 20,000 servers
only downside is the cheating ******* who modify there player configs to show naff graphics to give you a big advantage in the game where as the console is sort of a set standard

I have both a 360 & a gaming PC but prefer playing first person shooters on the PC for the simple fact that aiming is quicker & you can spin round quick & see who's behind you. I got Bioshock on the PC rather than the 360 & must admit it is better, plus it can run at higher resolutions than the Xbox.
Third Person stuff like Gears of War I find works good on Xbox, along with driving & fighting games like Soul Calibur 4.
I've seen Farcry 2, but it doesn't look like a Crysis beater so will probably give it a miss.

I also have a 360, PS3, and a high spec gaming style pc. Personally, I much preferred bioshock on the 360 (I played it on both). Yes it might run at a higher resolution on the pc, but it's no substitue for reliable software with no bugs/patches to speak of, no worries about driver compatibilities, a 42" plasma screen, full cinema surround sound, and a comfy sofa

I find just the opposite. Just because it's easier on the PC, doesn't make it better. It just means it takes more skill on the consoles

So if your a softcore fps gamer who wants to veg on the sofa believing console is best for FPS then carry on
![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
As for driving games, beat-em ups, sports games - consoles win hands down. FPS & RTM = PC imho.

It is if you have to navigate the game with a gamepad as that kinda negates the whole experience. Yes you have the same disadvantage as the other players online but if you know in the back of your mind that the play is far more smoother and reactive playing on M&KB then its a bit of a let down. If youve always played console you probably dont know any better.

I'll probably join you soon but even so I dont ever see myself saying that its better on a console.

I prefer these games on the console these days, (despite having a fairly decent gaming rig). No driver / installation worries. No dodgy drm protection. No multi-megabyte patches every 5 minutes. No buying a new graphics card every time a new game comes out. A nice comfy sofa, with a 42" screen and full cinema surround sound compared to sitting at a computer desk. No competition I'm afraid.
The console control method isn't any better or worse. It's just different, and takes some skill to learn. Personally I think that the people who moan about the console controls are the softies

Yep, I agree its all down to practice & what you're used to. I really enjoyed Halo 3 on the Xbox & didn't encounter any major difficulty with the control system, but for online shooters where you're up against skilled players and not AI I still prefer it old-skool style ! Each to their own I guess

Purchased Far Cry 2 today from Asda (£37) just stuck it on - first few minutes looks pretty good. Flamethrowers excellent fun

Just put kids to bed and wifes out babysitting tonight so got a good few hours to get stuck into it.
Anyone know if I can connect a USB mouse and keyboard to the PS3? Would prefer this combo to the controller for fps games.
