I think it's a different situation for each person depending on their position in life like what mortgage/savings or career choice.
I work in the meat trade and we are flooded with orders, granted it's the usual christmas run up but we are doing more than ever and to us it's like recession, what recession.
It's certainly an interesting time to say the least, im just hoping come next general election cameron can sort things out though im not holding my breath.

The cowboy lmao gonna have to call him that come tomorrow.
Billy, oh he's bigger than ever, the polish bought him a t shirt with the name gruby on it, little does he realise it's polish for fat.
Place hasn't changed for years, same old faces with a few poles thrown in for good measure.

I hate to point out the obvious, but there are always going to be positive and negative experiences of the economy in both good and bad times.
During a recession, not ALL businesses will have problems and many will continue to prosper. If they didnt, you'd get a far greater shrinking of the economy than the 1% ish per annum forecast. Hence the mix of positive and negative responses on the thread.
In the good times, businesses still go bust and people lose their jobs, its just that its easier to do well for the huge majority as there's more cash going around.
Over the next year or two, there will be more companies than there have been on average over the last 15 years experiencing bad times and going bust. Unemployment will be higher, but those who still have jobs will avoid the worst of it and in many cases not really notice that much difference.

Merthyr dump their beef onto us as they can't handle similar figures to what we have despite having close to double the staff.

Nah im not a boner/trimmer im a lowly packer, i should have been trimming years ago but management won't have any of it as im too damn good at what i do, story of my life.
Im on the scales weighing off, doing pretty much what wes did in probus only a sight faster and harder, at peak we were boning 1600qtrs a day.
Everyone is very stressed atm as there's lots of folk having time off so we're very pushed for keeping up with the boners.
Just mention huxley, most people will have heard of me.
