Have you put any thought into parking for all your new best mates

3 bike spaces for me Si and Dazza the rest will have to fight for a space

Right outside the man room front door (right up against the window), is a perfect space for 3 bikes.... The council have kindly placed a bus stop right out side.. so once I find the number of the service people will be able to walk 13.7 ft to the door.. The bus stop will also hold 4 or 5 cars.. this means Bus drop offs will have to walk approximately 20ft... a small price methinks..

I have a lockup about 100 yards away that will hold 10 cars....

Parking is no problem...

Once bored with the manroom we can walk the 300 yards to the F1 Go Kart track... or 200 yards to the Pitch and put or Thornes park Golf course... 300 yards to the pub or 250 to the all you can eat chinese buffet...

Agree with Daz. Good find mate... cheers

They've got a 506 for £170.... is the 606 twice the machine?

Defo on the cables too. Was looking to Mark Grant for the cables, but the component one you have is of interest if the PJ doesn't take HDMI.

Plus the phonos for the Amp...

Default Project Manroom UPDATE

The place is 98% empty now... Just a few white goods to move to another room once the electrics are sorted (see below). Then I have a blank canvas.

Had a quote for renewing the Windows and door. Didn't know they were THAT expensive...

If anyone fits Double Glazing.. speak to me... PLEASE!

The place doesn't need skimming on the walls or floors thankfully, so many thanks to those offering the plastering services... what it does need is plenty of holes filling from old shelving units and a good paint on the walls and roof....

What I do need before that is an electrician to look at removing 6 strip lights and setting the place for some spots and newer lights etc.. plus putting some wall sockets in......... Anyone on here???

Then a carpet...

Once those three are done... it's toy time..

May be worth planning your layout now, and hiding all the cables before the flooring goes down !

I haven't got round to this yet and the cables look lovely, NOT !

got an onkyo 605 myself been faultless since i got it, running a 102" screen and projector, the 605 has an hdmi pass through which also takes the sound from the source using the hdmi input and kicks out whatever the source is outputting i.e true hd, i run my blu ray through a ps3 true hd sound is alot better in my ears some dont notice the difference but it is there come round before you make a purchase if you want to hear it then go to daves and sample his as i know he has a decent setup (after my wood work of course) as regards not needing plastering if it is soly to be a cinema/boys room i'd think about sound proofing before you go any further as there's many options out there just depends how far you want to go (not as hard as you think or as dear) could go on for ever but i wont, if you need any help let me know love my av and know mates in all trades to do it cheap and i wont even charge for my services

Yup, where it was is now a big hole with tri-folding glazed oak doors and a lovely oak floor with some funky 2m tall 'retro' radiators

Stevey. I hope you know a Doctor because I'm about to snap your hands off......

I'd love to take you up on both your experience and contacts as the setup you have seems to be exactly the thing I'm after...

I've been to Dave's home a few times and admired his setup and we've sat for many an hour discussing the finer merits of HiFi etc... (Dave - I really do miss those listening sessions at Chris's )

You'll have to come round at some point and take a look at area...

It's effectively a detached shop that I'm turning into an AV / Family room. Sound proofing wont be an issue as there's no one above or to the sides, apart from a connecting door to the rest of the house at the very back of the shop which connects to a utility / old store room. But I will be looking to work on the EQ for the room once it's been furnished.

I'm no decorator, but a good underlay and Carpet, scrub down, filler and a good paint should do the trick. But I'm open to challenge on that...

It's a slightly odd shape being narrower at the back... but that's part of the fun kitting it out. It's not massive, but I'd say it's the size of a decently large front room that'll be dedicated to one thing thing... AV (pool table, bar and card table too)

As there were loads of lights and power points for tills etc there's a decent leccy supply, so moving that around won't be an issue. Everything will have to be top mount on the walls etc, but I'm happy with trunking and the data side...

So your electrician contact will be a great start to get me on my way. I'm checking a few other Double glazing suppliers as I want some decent isolation from the outside traffic...

Happy to give you a tour and I'll be happy to come and view your setup at your convenience...

spoke to my plasterer and even if you hide the cables in the walls they can still be made good, we can talk more over a latte or a coffee where abouts are you

I'd consider a dry-lining allowing cables to be easily run and some sound-deadening (rockwool ?) to be inserted. A suspended ceiling would allow the PJ to be concealed and possibly offer more acoustic isolation, and better options for lighting. If you line with plasterboard it would need skimming, but if you don't mind wallpapering you could line with MDF which wouldn't need a top coat (did this in the offices at my last place). Stevey knows best though.

I've gone through these type of 'specialist' options a few times, and struggled with the justification of doubling and trebling the finances to make this an exceptional space, but I'm limiting myself with the budget in order to get this in sooner; and plan for improvements next year.

The main budget will be blown on the windows / door and on a HD 1080p Projector. Improved sound and decor will have to wait (especially if it takes away heavily from the kit).

Stevey... I've PM'd my details...
