Trick or Treaters
#31
We have had a few scary weenos begging for sweets with the threat of doing a trick on me In all cuteness, I find it very sweet. I gave them some dried fruits instead of teeth rotting sweets. I bet they cursed me for not giving them lollipops and jellybabies

All this Trick or Treat stuff is an American tradition anyway. Can't think what started it all up here. Why do we have to follow what they do?
The traditional British thing is "Penny for the Guy" or carol singing.

I got 1 thats right i got 1 of the little fukckers throwing eggs at my Subaru and next doors Focus ST2. (17 year old!)
Anyways next door and me and chased him round the corner and got him a treat! To teach him the lesson we dumped what ever eggs he had and flower and tomato's on his head so he was dripping. He wasn't very happy so he must of rang his dad up who them came to my door going off on 1. After telling his dad what he had done and showing his dad the cctv footage of my drive way that covers all, his dad then slapped his own kid round the head and told him he was a fukcing idiot and he was really sorry for his sons actions and he will be sending his kid round today to wash both the cars! (We shall wait and see if that happens!)
Also told the kid messing with Pikeys ain't a good idea!

LOL I think it's good fun for children. My observation says that even teenagers and ancient people these days are partying and dressing up for the this pumpkin related festival I can't see why talking of the dead should be a problem, anyway. Chill through the spine is an emotion being widely appreciated these days. Horror movies are selling quite well too in current climate. IMO I can't see any need to Ba Humbug-ing this spooky occasion unless people go over the top; putting financial pressure on other parties. My kid had a party for 20 teenagers in our house last night. I had to cancel mine, in order to host these kids here (they were residing here for the night). Some of them are stil hanging around with their ghostly/lanky appearences. IMO any excuse for fun and party in dark and gloomy winter is acceptable

You had a valid reason for desciplining that kid
One Halloween, one of our saddo neighbours called police for some kid chucking snowball in his garden Police were exasperated with his "wolf is coming" calls all the time, for petty and negligible reasons! Eventually, he was legally shifted out of the community. We are very happy to have riddence from the natural vampire

I've got a really scary looking horror face mask in the hall cupboard. So when I hear the kids coming I crouch down behind the front door with the hallway lights off and when they knock I jump out with a piercing scream
But they all get a treat dl

Where I live pretty every house gets trick or treated apart from mine not sure why. I have no issues with little kids out with their parents but older than 10-11 knocking on my front door is asking for trouble. Or it would be but people almost seem to try quite hard to avoid going anywhere near my house.

Yes true enough Turbohot but it does encourage the evil thugs to use it as an excuse to vandalise peoples' property. Trouble is, if you try to stop them from doing that these days the coppers will have you for assault and they get away with it too. It can be very alarming for elderly pensioners too when they are threatened with things like flour and eggs all over their houses or even worse at times, not to forget the occasional "keying" of your car too.
I agree there is no harm in children being accompanied by their parents for safety's sake and yes I am sure they enjoy the dressing up bit.

Another vote here for the anti "trick or treat brigade" can't stand the ******* that dress in fancy dress then drag their sprogs around in some wierd attempt at filling bags with sweets!
I normally release the hounds on trick or treat night, ala Mr Burns....
