Here we go again, now 517 complaints, the extra ones probably being from people who didn't even see it.

Give it a few days and some intervention from the likes of The Daily Mail and Clarkson will be on a sabbatical with Wossy.

It's absolutely pathetic!!!

" Dear BBC,

I was going to make a formal complaint and send you a strongly worded letter about the appalling comments made by that very rude foul mouthed presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, on the program Top Gear on Sunday evening.

But instead I would like to direct your attention to the fact that the original poster of this thread on the popular soobaroo chat forum Scoobynet failed to know that i before e, except after c . I am frankly disguted at the level of education in this country and lay the blame entirely at the feet of Mr Tony Blair

Yours sincerely

Disgruntled from Surrey

I was taught that if you do not know the recipient's name then the letter should be signed 'yours faithfully'

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cari Mitchell, of English Collective of Prostitutes, meanwhile, said Clarkson's comments were "more serious than the Ross and Brand debacle" because he was "making light of murder".
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The collective?!?!?

Dibs on 7 of 9!!

Meanwhile the people who were the subject of the "insult" didn't seem that bothered

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Will Shiers, editor of Truck & Driver magazine said "a small number of drivers were offended by the murdering prostitute reference".

"On the whole, I thought the show was really entertaining.

"If anything it succeeded in demonstrating to car drivers just how difficult it is to drive a truck."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, that's complaints to the BBC for you!

Unless the shaft in question is attached to an axe head, presumably!

I'd encourage others to do the same, SN alone could outweigh the complaints by far!

Praise sent:

The episode of Top Gear broadcast on the 2nd November 2008 was irreverent, funny, and inventive; characteristics that have come to define Top Gear since its re-launch! It reflects great credit on the BBC and is essential viewing every Sunday in my household.

I am dismayed at some of the criticism levelled at Jeremy Clarkson by, to paraphrase the great man himself, those with: 'too much time and not enough brain syndrome'. I sincerely hope the BBC has the good sense to disregard such complaints as a) not representative of the feelings of the vast majority of the (very substantial) viewing audience b) Not representative of the feelings of the majority of the demographic targeted by the joke - the truck drivers, i.e. the only people who might legitimately have been entitled to take offence. Indeed, an organisation representing UK truck drivers claimed on the BBC website that its members enjoyed the show, did not find the joke offensive and were grateful to Clarkson et al. for highlighting just how difficult driving a truck is.

Still, I guess such misguided outbursts from ‘Mr/Miss Outraged from Nottingham’ will give Jeremy something else to write about in his next column for TG magazine, which I look forward to reading!

Best regards,

Paul (not disgruntled) from Kent.

I hate the fact that these people watch Top Gear (and other shows) simply to complain about anything and everything.

It happened with big brother and then brand/ross and now there is a new bandwagon for people to jump on. The British just love to complain.
I'm a "lorryist" and found it funny. (and no I haven't killed any prostetutes)

My only complaint about last nights Top Gear is that it was rubbish!

Come on guys you can do better than that utterly contrived formulaic drivel. I am a huge fan of the show and perhaps my expectations were too high, but last nights episode.....

The only funny bit was JC's prostitute comment!

I have suggested that the programme would be even funnier if James May made those comments in the future

Clarkson is the only person on TV now that comes across as being even half genuine. He is a really witty, intelligent guy and the do-gooders are just getting their knickers in a twist because he says what he thinks.

That joke was funny. I found it funny, and I know just about everyone else that watched it did - apart from 200 tw*ts it would seem. He wasn't seriously accusing all lorry drivers of murdering prostitutes was he? This can't be compared to the Brand/Ross thing in any way, and in my opinion anyone that can't understand that needs to be sent off to a hospital for tests.

They will be stopping everyone from laughing at things like this next.

It wouldn't surprise me if half the complaints were from Clarkson himself, he has stated in the past that the first thing he does when he arrives at the BBC on a Monday morning is check whether he or Ross got the most complaints that weekend

He's going to end up with a rather large phone bill trying to outdo Rossy this time
