How does it work with the guy who is helping you develop the product? Have you just given him the idea/problem you want to solve and he does the rest?
What %age does he take?
I'm asking because I have an idea for a product. Actually I know the problem I want solved but don't know how to design the product. It wouldn't be complicated I just need help.
I face this problem every day at work and when I do I keep promising I'll invent something to solve it but then never do.

Me too I have a very active inventive mind and have a few parked ideas I wouldn't mind looking into further, all my ideas seem to come when I am asleep, but I have given up with the pen and paper on the bedside table I now have to run downstairs lol.
Good luck Sara!!!

contact these guys
Invention Help - How to Patent an Idea or Invention. Product Patent Information.
i received a pack that explains how it works. i have been assigned an adviser and we both sign an agreement of confidentiality he then decides if my idea is viable.
i still havn't signed the agreement as i am watching how this thread goes![Stick Out Tongue](images/smilies/tongue.gif)
thanks for the positive comments![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
i don't think you hand over any cash if your idea is not likely to work, thats all i know at this time

Why not just register your idea with the patents office? At least in the UK / USA.
If it has been done before - The patent guys will tell you. You won't have this "Middle Man" taking, potentially, a large slice of the action.

Was in talks with Halfords years ago over a product but in the end they never took it on and the hassle of producing it myself was a non starter
Good luck with yours
