Sorry to here about your car.

This kinda thing is getting worse these days with immigrants here.

I work for a well known car hire company and last year we sacked most of our polish drivers at our manchester airport branch because they were racing around the car park and doing doughnuts in brand new prestige cars worth upward of 50k, the smoke coming from the branch was so bad the control tower phoned the fire brigade!

How dare you suggest that our Polish counterparts aren't far more hard working and honest than us Brits. I just won't stand for it I tells ye

Yes the car looks a right mess but you'll be a LOT safer in one. An 80's design Ford will be a lot worse place to have a crash in than a 00's car.
Yes i have heard of crumple zones and what they do. But ive also seen some Subarus battered to the point OMG how the hell did they get out and then i see some of the old cossies that took a bigger wack so to speak but **** pit still nice and tidy.

I base this judgment on a motorsport place i used to go and what crashed cars he had,(Ie cossies & Subaru's) Also via my own crash that scared the **** out of my in my 1st cossie spinning 3 times and hitting the centre reservation on the A14 when some tw@t pulled out on me just coming out of road works and had to slam on the brakes but to late we was a gonna. If you want to see the pics of the cossie being crashed at 68mph i can dig them out.

It's also down to peoples own opinion's but i hope i never crash my Subaru.

You name a day and I'll be there with me flask

Thank you again everyone for your advice and support; I doubt I'll ever again post a thread on here that runs to 7 pages - perhaps I'd better hope I dont anyway - I'd rather live a quiet life from now on

I'd try to get hold of someone at BP as well as soon as you can. Even if the garage if a franchise operation, BP won't be happy to have their name dragged through the press - which you should get onto straight away - so they might help bring pressure to bear as well.

And you should know that on this website, if someone in the opinion of other contributors does something daft, they'll get lots of flak so that just goes with the territory of your original post I'm afraid!

Good luck.
