Very sorry to hear this Rob.

You could do with parking the car out of the way for a few days to let things settle down and get your head in gear.

If you keep the car you could put up a decent security post which would put them off.
There are some dome doors that they won't kick through and it's usually council tenants which get there free of charge. Police and Firebrigade really struggle opening them with pro kit.

Is there any local garages you could rent out? Although not under your watchfull eye you would sleep easier.

Don't blame you for wanting to sell up though but from experience these people don't usually come back.

hi bud sorry to hear about this. unfortunatly this is a common thing nowadays, and guess what they get £1000 per car!!! for it to then be stripped or shipped to another country (south africa/dubai/eire)

£1000 divided by 3 = £333 each, for half hours work and a lifetime of stress for the victim and his familly.....w*nkers!!!!!!!
problem is, as its easy money kids as young as 14 are commiting these offences!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate these feckin scum bags.
you want my car ? bring a shooter and a big one at that!

all the best mate, keep ya head up

I really feel for you here, as I've been in similar situations.

As others have said, you could try improving security and making it clear that your house isn't an easy target.

A dog would definetly scare the sh*t out of anyone who broke in, but a dog with that kind of temperament is not a good idea when you have children IMO.

Sorry to hear about this, it must have been an awful experience. I'm paranoid of the same thing happening therefore I insisted on a garage with the next place I find. It's a worry parking cars like this anywhere e.g. public car parks at night time.

really sorry to hear about your experience mate!!...but as some people have said dont let them win!!i understand family comes first, but try other motives first, instead of selling your toy!
you may find it was just a one time thing, still a few sleepless nights are bound to be a common thing!it does make me wonder how stupid these people are, doing those sort of things at such an early time, one thing i would take from this is that they can't have had much ***** if there were 3 of them and your brother managed to scare them off on his own!best of luck to you

Hate to hear storys like this glad you and your family are ok. I have had similar experiances myself but they have never gone to this extreme yet but i fear owning a car such as an impreza it is only a matter of time. I have a dog that goes crazy at any noise and also found that a really good deterant is my Eclipse EGO as paintballs traveling at 300 feet per second at a rate of 30 per second is quite off putting when they hit you. Also just found some paintballs with a pepper spray fill. Still would be easier if the little ***** would just die though.

that sucks man, i had the same thing when i used to live in manchester, i got basically pinned in one day when i was visiting my gran, people have no respect. with the scoob however i'm not as fussed its fully insured etc, at the end of the day its a piece of metal.

i'd say judging by the problems you've mentioned before, id be looking for a new house, or just get rid of it. for me the best benifit of having a company car is that i can sleep easy at night. ive had to many sleepness nights worrying about cars, its not worth it.

But if you sold up, then who would be left to keep asking for countless photoshops?

Seriously though it must have been horrible, hope you are all ok.

i have always had a big tracker sticker put on car. It will make them think twice I am sure. Personally id be so ****ing pissed off if they came into my house but id still give them the keys. Car is no good if your dead. Its this day n age now. There was an asian gang of about 30 lads convicted of stealing high performance cars in bradford , almost all was imprezas

first thing you should do is, a reinforced anti vandal door or similar, and a sign saying beware of dog because that is one of the biggest deterants but if they have no plans to get in the house for the keys then as said earlier the barriers are the best thing you can buy as a deterant that works...
a few hundred quid will sort you out and should help you sleep alot better, im getting a surface mount barrier pole soon (just for peace of mind)

Did they sell them in Keighley by any chance????

A tracker advert is not that good as there are only a few places to fit them, so the crooks in the know as it has been "advertised" Know where to look sadly.

Feel for ya mate its a s***e experience, back in august 4 a holes broke into our house while we were asleep, took the scoob keys some cash and the Mrs handbag nicked the car could'nt drive it and wrote it off 13 mins from leaving our house. I could not believe how easy it was to break the lock on the door to get in If anyone reading this has an older UPVC/ally door get some "snap safe" locks might just stop the robbing gets.
This was what was left of our car

And its replacement

We thought about not getting another scoob but then the t**ts have won ............... cant wait for the insurance renewal

My first question is who has told you these figures? Because i'd be making a call to plod and telling them that you know someone involved! And secondly the guys that can strip a car in half an hour need a proper job working for SWRT and they might get more than £333 granted not for half an hour though.

I just find it hard to believe the lengths people go to nowadays to get a car...it's like you can't work hard and achieve something without someone trying to ****** it away...

It's only the lowest off the low who behave like this...but still it puts you off getting a decent car I hope you are not put off completely though and that they don't come back...urgh...people like this really need to feel pain

I can understand why you'd want rid of your car. As a single bloke, I'd keep it and beef up security. If I had a family though, I'd probably get rid. No car is worth family getting hurt by it. If something happened to you defending your property....... you have a young family.

It's just the way Britain is these days. Government being far too soft on criminals has led to a culture of criminal having more rights than there victims. short on no prison sentences, and fines less than most people annual car insurance premiums.

There is no "Great" in Britain anymore

Family is number 1 mate, talk to your missus and see what she wants. It's a difficult decision as it is a lovely car, but it is just a car and could be replaced in the future, especially if you move. Have a proper think about the best option and don't do anything rash. Security could be a real deterant though. What about a dog? I think ours would scare of most with his bark, & he is a big 'un!

Good luck with whatever you decide
