there is more benefits if you have altered exhaust and either removed cats or fitted a sports cat. However I have remapped standard cars and seen pretty good gains..

You would be looking at ppp figures or slightly better (because it is a custom map to your exact car rather than a generic map and every car is different) without the need for the other ppp bits and huge cost of the ppp.. plus improved mpg and throttle response.

Yes you would..

pricing is here

but basically £550+VAT for the first remap and I would then charge £150+VAt to tweak for exhaust changes.

prices subject to discount if part of a group etc..

you would do better to wait until exhaust fitment if you were intending fitting exhaust

Exhaust systems can be a nightmare, a lot depends on what you want out of the car regarding volume.... do you want it loud or quite ?

on an 04 wrx I would go with a 2.5inch system.. a cotton green panel filter and a remap.. the 2.5inch system promotes a little torque and spool keeping low down go over the 3inch at the power level the 04 wrx will run on standard turbo etc..

scoobyworld, h&s etc.. just say you want one not too loud etc

as long as plugs and fuel filter are within service routine then no need to change or advantage.. if unsure of when last changed then worth changing..

fuel pump on wrx on standard turb is fine.. it is cheap to change and wouldn't hurt but not necessary/essential

You will not pass the emissions test with a full decat.

Sports cats are very effective these days and 100% legal and you will pass an mot with one fitted.

Sports cat
2.5" exhaust system
Green filter
EcuTek Remap

As JGM states this will make a big difference to the car and if you wish to go further give you a good base to work from.

Just to add if V Power is your fuel of choice run the car on it for the remap then it will be mapped for that brand fuel so ideally you will then need to run on that brand all the time afterwards.

Miltek do both 2.5" and 3" sytems, so do Hayward and Scott, from JGM's earlier post so do Scoobyworld.

04 WRX isnt the standard exhaust 2.5 ? When they advertise a cat-back system does that mean it joins after the first cat? Just a backbox on a standard system increase in noise but no extra power? So much to learn!!

Dave you need to go to a meet really and have a good look over car's similar to your own... everyone has done something of what your looking into so there are plenty of people to ask before you commit to anything plus you can get an idea on exhaust volumes

I'm not that far away from you in many respects anyway.... maybe you would like to come to one of the SWS meets to have a look over the line up, your more than welcome.
