I do like it, and have appreciated Clarkson from the first time he reviewed a car on TG, but I reserve the right to an opinion on the current format of the show. I watch it, I laugh, I enjoy, but I also feel cheated and disappointed each week. A look back at the content for each episode in previous seasons reveals many more cars reviewed in and amongst their cocking about. Not seen tonights yet (come on iPlayer), but I hated last weeks. As funny as it was in places, to have just one car reviewed, another ridiculed with no opinion or outcome, a drab interview which went on too long and the rest of it a scripted, predictable tirade of cocking was not up to the level we can and should get from them. Every episode gets more like a weekly version of Clarksons Christmas DVD release.

People actually wanting dumbed down tv from the BBC and admitting it!
Why not revamp Question Time and Newsnight, bin Dimbleby/Paxman for some wisecracking morons (Brand and Ross are free). The logic follows if you wanted real news you can just buy the Financial Times or the Telegraph for your news

The filmwork on the US musclecar bit was something else, would love to watch that on HD.
Again it was a top show, the Fiat 500 was a bit too girly but the muscle cars were great. Will Young made a great guest this week too surprisingly.
Thumbs up from me

I just don't get my head around these people that say they don't like the show, watch it, and then come online and say things like they reserve the right to an opinion. EDIT....apologies to Corradoboy.....he actually said that he does enjoy the show, so he's kind of off the hook
I reserve the right to an opinion on Strictly Come Dancing, and my opinion is that its crap, so I don't watch it. I don't come on here saying "aaaah did you see it...it was crap eh"?
If you don't like a programme, don't watch the fookin thing and leave it to us that do like it.
**** off and watch summat else.

top gear is an extemely popular show.....its entertainment for the whole family in my opinion. I have 2 girls who have no interest in cars and they both love it.
If you dont like it then dont watch it ...simple as!!!!!!!!
Sick of ppl like this.

OK, just watched tonights and I really enjoyed it. I don't mind a whole show of cocking when it's as good as that, but they should be a couple of times per season, with the remainder more focussed on cars. I'm not after stats and facts, but decent group tests done in 'their style' which give you an insight into the cars abilities whilst also being entertaining and funny. I always say the IoM review of the S2000, Boxster and Z4 was one of the best. I also loved the Monaro, Jag and 300C on Pendine Sands, and the BMW 6, Jag XKR and 911 razzing around the Yorkshire Dales. Tonights feature was much like those, and all the better for it, even though the cars were largely irrelevant to our market. A big improvement on last weeks show, even the SIARPC was good with Will Young being very funny and likeable.

Exactly what I thought! A prime example of a programme being dumbed down for the masses. No more comment is necessary reading something like that. Thankyou lammy for highlighting my point exactly. TogGear should be moved to the slot after Eastenders.

Last night's show was good I thought. Laugh out loud funny and pretty much all about cars all the way through. Gotta love Clarkson's apology about................................the GT2 time!
