whether people find the joke humourous of the house boring is no indication on if they fully appreciate the true nature of what the situation was......

It is hard to find a single case of a truely awful scenario that has not had a joke or two made about it sometime after the incident.

It does have pictures, and it depends what level of pond life you are whether you find them pretty or not. So I would imagine you would find them pretty, and boring.

Her story is heartbreaking and it should serve as a warning to the rest of us as to what can happen to anyone whose face does not fit when such vicious and brutal people get control of a country.

I was sorry to see that some thought they would try to make a joke out of this situation. It really is not deserving of such treatment. If you can't see that try putting yourself in her position. You have to take an honest look at it though.

I read the book when I was about the same age as Anne Frank when she wrote it. It has had a lasting effect on me and left me utterly unable to understand the mentality behind genocide. I'd love to visit the house where she lived just to pay my respects to her and the thousands like her and her family.

The first post of the book was originally from B3ta a few years ago. Remember seeing it but you expect that kind of thing on that site.

Certianly an interesting story but can't sday i've read it. There is a really bottom lip wobbling one at the Memorial (museum but called memorial) in Caen which is a little kid's diary from the siege of Stalingrad. She's not old and the writing is quite simple but basically it records her family dying one by one, she's the only one left in the end, she's too small to move the bodies and has no food. Lasts a few days like that noting down how hungry she is before it stops. Most harrowing bit of reading ever.
