If this infraction system HAS to stay. Would it not be fair to make the decision on objections given to more Mods rather than just one person deciding if the infraction should stay or go. One person can't speak for all at the end of the day. And if other people agreed the infraction should not have been dished out, this has generally been ignored, because of the one person making the decision.
Does that make any sense
Does that make any sense
Nice idea Lesley
I think the system needs to be reviewed, however the instant ban feature is great for getting rid of spammers so keep that for starters.
As for the infraction system being used by a certain section of the community.
Well it has been shown time and time again to be used and abused (I have been subjected to the unfairness of it ) and I, for one, would like to see it reduced or removed in some capacity. If it meant the use of it went to mods then fine, but as they do a thankless task as it is, I doubt they would want to shoulder the extra responsibility.
The neg/pos system is okay I guess, as it simply shows if people agree or disagree with one's post, akin to a round of applause or booing. Not quite sure how effective it is, but it certainly gives people a quick overview.

A quick perusal through 'history' shows that you have left and returned to SN on a few occasions and all those years back, you still seemed to be popular
Jan 2004
So I am wondering, if you seem to dislike this place and the admin team and many of the people who frequent it, why you have suddenly re-appeared and are continuing where you left off ?
Just genuinely curious.

Also i do what i want, i return as and when i want ! And if you had access to my Pm etc you would see i was in constant communication with many ex and current members here on scoobynet.
Maybe you just like to be "loved' ? I speak my mind and have never hid from making a opinion when i believe in it. Some are only here to try and make some sort of name for themselves.
In all your tim you seem to have learned nothing about me. i have met a few members and we get on. None of us try to think of scoobynet as been "home". I have backed members using my own money (Group buy ,years ago) and have had the guts to speak against the system many times.
so there !

It's like Bubba said. Your username is your online identity. If you're forced to post under a pseudonym in a "you've been a naughty boy so you're going to have to wear this mask" kinda way then I'd really sooner not bother and I'm sure that I'm not the only one

The actual post-count is not important, but the persona is.

It wasn't so long ago he had an issue with Sonic (Sure it was him) regarding a thread I too was posting in.
Invited Sonic to Admin thread, but threatened anyone else who posted in there with an instant ban.
I've been a member since May 2005, and never had any issue with Webby in all that time. That issue with Sonic opened my eyes though. Banning people for giving an opion on what Sonic was saying was out of order IMHO.

he once removed 12k of my posts for talking about addblockers
threatened to take a good few of us to court for various offences,
and generally acted like a big ego-tit, but its all ok now, because he is not a bad man anymore, he has turned over a new leaf apparently

My name is not appropriate anymore, but I am kinda attached to it and people know me by it.

Luke, if you wish to get a valid point across, and I guess you are trying to say "the site is defined by the community not by the owners" you could try and be a LITTLE less patronising.
I don't know about IB but if someone replied to a post of mine in that manner, I'd be spitting blood.
You really came across as incredibly rude there, and please don't speak for all of us when it is really your own opinion you are stating.

Kieren
why should i tell it the way you want???? do you tell everyone how to speak?
ok : so IB should learn how to look at Scoobynet through a English pair of eyes. Stu , "you" are NOT IB . You are "part" of it. And as i said i can imagine most might be American.
You need to accept all forms of ideas and opinions .

Most of my post count is corners* in the hutch and razz smileys in Member's Gallery.

Hardly
In all your tim you seem to have learned nothing about me.
Never even heard of you TBH until of recent, hence the question
i have met a few members and we get on. None of us try to think of scoobynet as been "home". I have backed members using my own money (Group buy ,years ago) and have had the guts to speak against the system many times.
Same for me...so I dont see your point. It was a question as to why you suddenly came back and started posting in a contentious style. You are not alone as demonstrated by the sudden arrival of many old names, but yours seemed to be the vocal.
Just an observation
so there !

this could be a great Thread: "What we did to make Simon Mad? "
he threatened to take you to court !!!!!! I still wonder if the "hitman" story is true or just Simon wanting to be all "Bond"

one of my more favorite saved PM`s
lmfao
Antics
Sticky.
Look. All this weirdness.. pretending to be a woman.. signing up multiple accounts just to troll.. using seperate networks in an attempt to disguise yourself.. it all just makes you look silly.
I'm sure you don't want what reputation you have to be even further destroyed by us outing you re your transvestite account, etc.

Good evening Non Scooby Related, I trust you are well
It seems we have a new broom, which can hopefully sweep clean. I, once, was most fond of this BBS
Web:clown: recognised his impotence at banning troublesome users early on, and elected not to do anything about them for fear of being made to look a fool. Over time, features such as Tachy Goes To Coventry and Infractions were made available. Web:clown: seized on infractions and decided that it would be conducive to turn the community on itself, rather than effectively police troublesome users.
It should be noted that certain tactics were attempted before this, such as threats to report users to their employers etc. Distasteful, perhaps... but what was a desperate web:clown: to do when his pride was dented so? ScoobyNet was his life, the valued users his children... naturally the thought of making money from them was abhorrent, to even whisper it, an infractable / life ban offence Everything was for the good of the people yet he couldn't understand why the proletariat turned on him
He made mistakes, and he admitted it
Some of the people vying to get back in make me smile. Habgood is a hapless fool, Devildog is old school... both a definite nono.
The likes of Luke, Simon 69 etc are tiresome stirrers, welcome neither here or 22b it seems. So let us see what the new regime brings. A new dawn, a new hope perhaps... let's see.
I will be watching
I bid you good evening
oik

I am happy to discuss these topics openly and frankly in order to gauge the valued members opinions, even at this time of night when i should be in bed with my wife. However, rest assured that if things start turning childish then I will just revert back to working behind the scenes as before and pretty much do what I feel needs doing without your input. I am not here to take unjustified abuse and I assure you i wont take any more than twice from any one person, on here or otherwise.
