I came out this morning and it wouldn't run....
296 miles, 1 too many !
Nearly 400 bhp, but not 100 %,l so only getting to 4500 rpm at the moment, needs mapping ! 2002 STI.
Worst 6 mpg at Blyton !

55 plate STi. Get around 200-250 miles to a full tank with mixed driving. Lowest was 180 miles. I put in approx £150-200 of fuel a WEEK....yes a WEEK. Running it is the expensive bit, buying it is the cheap part of having a Subaru.

lol i know what you mean! i'll be heading out on a trip to se friends say 200 miles away so i'll fill up and think "yeah i'll take it easy and just cruise on down"............
hmmmm that lasts all of about ten miles
Is it wrong to be obsessed about driving a car all the time? i've just sat and watched a half hour video from the 2007 euro thrash and all i want to do now is go out for a drive

I don't think anybody buys a scoob because it's the only car they can afford. You buy one for the buzz. Stuff the fuel cost and insurance (and VED?), you know it's going to be expensive to own a scoob and that's part of the buzz.
Just face up to it, you're nothing more than an adrenalin junkie like the rest of us!

I just cannot believe your getting that many miles, If you are then I'm certainly doing something totally wrong!!!!
Last check, It worked out at 24.8mpg or 17.3pence per mile, not too bad I guess but that did include 130 motorway miles!

mine averages around 200 miles to a tank
though motorways it tends to be worse,,,,, 120 miles to a tank a few weeks ago was driving from kilburn to mansfield,,,, though was 8am on a sunday morning and was there in under 2 hours,,,,,,,,, door to door and stopping for a coffee too
ive yet to get over 230 miles to a tank

It is partly technique, on club runs I rarely go over 5000 rpm, whilst "the lads" are on the limiter everywhere.... They need to fill up to get home, I usually have quarter of a tank left.

04 wrx. best is approx 320 to a full (brimmed) tank on normal fuel.
thats with proper spirited driving too- blasting to lake district and back.
obviously round town its rubbish.
I can't believe people are getting 200 miles and less out of £50- even on a good run etc ??
is it due to all these "mods" - if so they seem a waste of time
