You'd be amazed at how many times I've found this in terraced housing where the roof space is open between properties!!!
Comes in handy when you're doing the place up and don't want to put credit on the meter in the property you're working on. Especially when the w@nker of a neighbour has been bragging how he doesn't pay for his leccy as his mate "fixed it". Or so I have been told by a friend of a friend who's cat was talking to a feline friend that had just been to the pub and overheard its owner talking about it to a friend.

we were called to a flat where their power kept cutting out. Even with everything in the flat unplugged they were still drawing a collasl amount of current turned out the flat below had twigged one of their sockets in the kitchen was not on their power supply and had everything they could plugged into this poor socket.
It was down camborne though, those gypos will steal anything

I give Southern Electric a call, as I wanted to ask something about my electric key anyway. I've asked to have my gas supply switched over to them anyways. this will take upto 28 days depending on how British Gas are, and I will then discuss about getting off these blastid token meters.

slightly o/t - Was anyone really offended by 'foookin' in the title? Serious question, there is a line between moderation and censorship i feel and i've already noticed a number of posts by the new model army in policy saying "i had to delete a few posts in xyz thread" etc.
Not quite right i don't feel.

I've just changed over to EDF, it's in the process of them changing it from my current supplier at the mo, don't know as of yet how much I'll be paying but I was told it will be alot less than what I'm paying now.
Been with N-Power for 2 years now and since the beginning of this year they wanted £45 a fortnight for gas and electric combined, so I gave £50 a fortnight to put it in credit and get the payments reduced. Got a letter last month, both gas and electric were in credit so the whole account was in credit by quite alot..........................Get this, they now want £56 a fortnight!!! £112 a month!! I phoned them up and asked why the payments had went up when they were getting more than they originally asked for and the account was in more than enough credit, I got told that even though it was in credit by the time the winter has passed and what our usage would be the account would end up in debt and would have to be paid in full so that is why they have raised the payments! What a load of bollox. We live in a 2 bedroom terraced house, so we don't need to use alot of gas and electric.
Changed to EDF a couple of weeks ago, waiting on the change over and the snotty phone call from N-Power, but atleast I'll be paying alot less!

I didnt read every post so not sure if this has been mentioned..
If you do it over the net as well you get a better rate ,we are quarterly and dd according to da boss it's the cheapest way..
When the meters came out a few years ago it was a standard minimum 25% more expensive whic was supposed to cover the "extra servicing costs".
It was suggested by opponants of the system that it was another example of the companys targeting the people who could least afford to pay..
It also had the benifit of them not getting bad publicity for cutting supplies to the more vaulnerable sections of society and the cost of cutting them off and taking them to court.. Win Win Win situation i bet the person who came up with that idea got a hefty bonus..
