LOL at the naievety(sp) and assumptions you lot have about German drivers
They are without a shadow of a doubt one of the worst driving nations on the planet, any prat can drive a German car fast on an autobahn.
The German driving test is harder than the UK one but as for better drivers forget it, you check their lane discipline on the autobahn, the are incapable of judging the speed of other vehicles, you check out their general driving ability round town and you will dispair. The are selfish and self centred drivers with an "I am the only car on the road" attitude. They have no common sense when it comes to driving, they follow the rules without question and without thinking of the consequences, "I have right of way so I will take it" German cemetries are full of German drivers who were right and had right of way. They are taught to be aggressive and not give way, they take their right of way very seriously. The other thing is this crappy give way to the right rule, you will not believe the amount of rear enders there are due to this rule.

The biggest failing of UK drivers is a lack of awareness of what is going on around them - which causes classics such as the middle lane hog, the A road tailback and the rubbernecking rear-end shunt.
My other pet UK driver hate is the complete lack of understanding about overtaking - there is nothing wrong with a safe overtaking move in the correct place. So why the flashing of lights after you do it as if you were driving like a lunatic?

I've just had to do the IAM test ( Advanced Driving Course ) due to the nature of cars I drive at work ( Insurance purposes )
It's a real eye opener I always thought my driving was spot on - How wrong I was ..

We have to go out with one who trains us once every 3 months for an assessment and he's observation is unreal. When he does a commentary drive the things he picks up and he's attention to detail about everything that's around him is fantastic!!
Getaway drivers beware...
