Well done mate...

Considering the purchase speed, I'll expect a full review by at least 7:15

Plus: Be first on your list for the 606 (I'm positive you'll be looking for a better Amp to power those mighty Kef's)
to be fair the 606 will cope fine, anyway get that bloke phoned and get the swimming pool sorted

I haven't embraced HD audio yet, but have a selection of 'reference' DVD's from all over the world to get the best from DD and DTS. Let me know if you want to borrow any.

Just got it fired up, after running the speaker cables for the rears around the edge of the laminate flooring

First impression . . awesome. Simply destroys the previous KEF dvd setup I had. Need to spend some serious time playing with it and setup it up using the mic provided. Just need to wall mount the front speakers, then start playing

I agree they'll be just fine. But knowing Si, he'll not be satisfied if there's room for improvement.

I'd always argue that an AV amp simply wont cut it for 'proper' 2 Chan HiFi. It'll do the job, but if you want quality sound then it'll have to be a quality, dedicated amp and source.

Ta for the contact mate, he called today and will be back regarding coming around for a quote.... I'll let you know how it goes...

Si, if you need a pair of hands, let me know.

Might take you up on that offer. Could do with a hand setting everything up, and getting the front speakers positioned along with the sub

glad i could help alan, just been speaking to him and he said you'd spoke to him and that he was comeing round at some point and didnt i say a few times to you that a receiver will just never be as good as a proper amp , si dont worry to much about the sub position just get it were it wont be too in your way as a sub is non directional so it dosent matter a huge amount were you have it (within reason)

Just let me know when you need it and we'll sort a deal out

Still have'nt properly got it all up and running yet. Decided to do a proper job with the rear speakers and run the cables in the walls. Would like to do the same with the fronts, but the walls are solid.

Any suggestions on how to run the cables for the fronts?

aslong as the wall is plastered or plaster boarded then there is no trouble getting the cables sunk it's a 10 min job

The wall where the rears are is plasterboard, so popped a hole in it top and bottom, and dropped the cable down the cavity. Fronts are going on walls that are plastered, but solid. No cavity to get the cables down

I'd worry about that on an audiophile stereo system, and maybe on a decent front main pair in an AV set-up, but for the surrounds forget it. You show me someone who says they can tell if those cables aren't running with the draw and I'll show you a bull$h!tting b@$t@rd. He'd probably try and sell you a £200 HDMI cable too

I was hoping to catch him checking for arrows and slapping his head going Doh! But you've ruined the wind up... sort of...
