Hijacked oil tanker

In the Times it says they are treated like 'businessmen'.
Sure I read a story recently about a cruise ship that used a sonic 'boom' or something to shake them off (or bloody their ears or whatever it does)

25 members of the crew, 1 mile long ship, 10 crew asleep, 2 cooking, 8 eating, 3 on the bridge - that leaves 2 to patrol a mile each on both sides, both holding a GNAT SpudGun to deter the Pirates!

They are going to have to get tough...these pirates are just becoming more bold.
Either that, or you have to accept that you just cannot sail in those waters at all....which is hardly acceptable.

That's the way you need to act. A few patrols shadowing ships and destroying any pirates they come across.

"The INS Tabar sunk the pirate "mother ship" after it failed to stop for investigation and opened fire instead, an Indian navy statement said."
Thats more like it

So who has jurisdiction then?
I'm sure the SBS could do a great job but I don't think they'd be allowed to carry it off.
The Navy SEALS could try - they'd be twice as pumped up, have much bigger guns but all get shot or blow the entire ship up.
Think aggressive Navy patrols are the way forward. Radar is advanced enough to track any boat and a few patrolling jets or gunships could soon sort out any pirate activity.

Do you reckon there'll be a rescue attempt on this oil tanker by the special forces?
Just heard on the news the port the hijackers are making to has a dozen other hijacked ships. Maybe they should make an example of these guys as pirates seem to be getting out of hand.

Who else would attempt to use infantry weapons against an alert warship whilst sitting on top of a bomb of ammo? They should have welcomed the boarding party and entered honourable negotiations.

only a matter of time before the cook, who happens to be a former navy seal, manages to break out of the walk in fridge & re takes the ship single handed.

I would think there's a chance of this happening.
Surely quite a tricky one though?
Although, saying that: they could obviously blow the lot up and spill the oil, but they surely wouldn't do that while they were on-board? And they wouldn't have any time to go anywhere if special forces went on-board...if they even realised what had hit them.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.
