mcrae print on ebay

I can't believe people are still slating the OP, if I had one it would be on ebay now. If you get an apportunity to make some easy mony then why not?
Like someone said the charity has had the slice of the money so the OWNER can do anything he wants with it.
What if something was won at a charity raffle? If it was sold on would you expect people to sell it for the price of the raffle ticket? I think not.

Cry me a river.
Make a second print which is slightly different and sell 555 of those as limited prints as well, de-value the first batch and make those who didnt get to buy one happy.
Always a way round these things.

This is a lot of witch hunting personally. If he made £500 and the CM fund gains £250 then it's pretty good. I do hope he does though but I won't be selling mine.

The Mcrea Gathering/Foundation made a great donation. The original buyer obviously made a donation and by donating even 5% is still contributing even more to the foundation. Rightly or wrongly - in some eyes - he is still making a bigger donation than those that bought the original picture for "only" £40.
I for one missed the opportunity, for reasons out of my control, to get my McRae/Subaru loving hands on this picture and I had a figure I was wiling to pay for this picture - which went my above estimate.
If the seller made a profit the Mcrae foundation did too, if the seller didn't make a profit - which we know they did - the McRae foundation still got ANOTHER donation irrespective of amount due to the picture being purchased in the first place!!
Bigger picture in life people, he was a bloke who drove a car - albeit pretty well lol - far worse atrocites happeining such as people who dont drive their car to the max, or within health and safety guidlines!

Nothing will be said when the prints go up for sale in a few years time at quadruple the price they are now.
They bought them, donated to charity, it's up to them what they do with it next.
You can't stop it, it's like buying concert tickets when you have no wish to go and flog at a vlaue.
Supply and demand etc.

Did anyone here honestly expect some of these not be sold on for profit?
Come on, it was inevitable!
It's a limited edition, it will go up in value, some people will sell it for profit. Fact of life.
It's his property to do with as he pleases. If the organisers are miffed about not getting enough money then maybe they should have kept a few back (like No's. 001, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 555 etc.) and auctioned them off themselves and made more money.
I'm sure there will be more appearing on ebay as time goes on.

Some are going to be auction off on E-bay, 555 being one of them but these are going to be signed by Jimmy Mcrae and by Prodrive as well, and I think 1 to 5 have been kept for the same reason.
Cheers

That's the whole issue i have with it. We don't know that, they just said they would put a donation in. Why not sell via here and SIDC and then show us the donation ticket or have the winner Paypal it to a charity direct?
I could put "110% of this auction will go to charity" but you'd have no clue whether i did it or not.
I'd rather people didn't bother trying to make themselves seem nice or ease their own sweaty palms and just honestly say "I bought this to make a profit, i know some of you are narked by that but i'm going to profit from that fact and i'll be laughing all the way to the pub with your cash. Happy bidding."
Honesty, it's the way forward
