I'm sure the people like BravoZero-SPS and maybe Fatherpeirre whilst on his commissioned flower arranging duties, would have witnessed the red caps swinging (ie swinging fists truncheons, kicks and heads) to clear bars in Colchester, maybe wouldn't be too sympathetic to the lance jack in question.

Father i was labouring under the impression that you in a past life was a chinless wonder in the RAF, and maybe would have witnessed the armys finest redcaps (RMPs) leathering the crap out of various ranks from various sqn's/ regiments, leatherings that would have made specials lightfoots efforts rather tame.
However i fear i may have mistaken your flower arranging duties in the officers mess for someone else
. I apologise.

Ah. Yes, I was in the RAF for a while - 13yrs, to be precise.
And I did lodge in the Officers' Mess for a time, but did also do my time being treated like a **** before the commission bit

I don't recall much violence from any of the 'police' the military have though. They were usually thick and hid behind the German Sheps they had.

It normally takes us 2-3 officers to restrain and cuff a drunken and/or drugged bafoon.
I don't think people appreciate the strength of people who are drink & drug fueled and running on adrenaline.
Thats not to say i condone the video and banging/rubbing heads etc. is a clear no no. With 3 of them and the suspect on the floor, the rest should be straight forward. No gathering crowd to consider - they had plenty of time to relax and do things properly and hence not put anyone (including themselves) in any danger.

Amazing how this didn't descend into infractions (yes i know that they are gone now), but rather one sober person chatted to a pished person and an accord was reached. A triumph for conversation.
Now back to the topic in hand................................hang the guilty *******s

Just getting a cuff on one wrist takes 2 hands, so imagine if you're faced with a young, strong/fit and drunk one that doesn't fancy being cuffed?

That was disgusting, that fat ******* officer punching him in the back and scraping his cheeks across the floor, lol police sometimes make me laugh. Most are nice, the rest are absolute high horse arseholes!
Police round here, if confronted by a drunk like that resisting arrest, will take as many officers needed to restrain the person, although NO force like that is used whatsoever, and the same on many occasions ive seen. To say that "Punching him may of led to him backing down and let them cuff him" is complete bollocks n all, there was no need to punch him or rub his face like I see the copper at the front doing, couldnt really see what the one at the back was doing though, but PC fatboy was well out of order. Why didnt they just Nut him in the nose with their foreheads one by one to "drop" him and then he'd be knocked out thus no resisting the arrest, lol if they done all that on the floor they may aswell of smashed him in the face while standing.
idiots.....to think the tax i pay goes towards w@nkers like that "protecting and serving" the community, complete farce!

All I can say, is that it is good to see a Special getting his hands dirty, rather than calling for assistance.
I fear however, that his career may have a somewhat meteoric aspect to it.

I wonder:
How many warnings he got before they approached him.
Did they arrest him and read him his rights.
Did they advise him to stop moving and calm down at any point.
The guy is face down, cuffed behind his back, with one officer pushing down on his back, one holding his legs and the 20 stone special punching him repeatedly.
The officers lied in their statements and during the video the special can be seen looking to check for witnesses.
If the guy was known to the police, then mistaken identity cannot be any excuse for the officers.
I'm not a fan of drunken behavior, but that is serious overkill.
If you ever wondered why our police don't have guns...

The way the story unfolds as you read more and more actually makes it quite interesting...
There is the mirrors slant - Innocent brave war vet get beaten up for doing nothing wrong by 3 malicious evil coppers. From the headline you wouldnt be wrong for thinking before his arrest he was in a meadow painting flowers, conversing with the birds.
Then there is the counter slant - Drunken yob approached by police is chased, caught, shouts drunken somethingorothers at 3 policeman who make a rather rough and somewhat unfair arrest. Drunken yob complains about his arrest by biting
a copper, which is about as scummy and obscene an assault as can be. Drunken yob takes a splattering and gets thrown in the cell for biting an officer of the law.
Anyman that goes around biting policemen is likely to be assaulted by them...
Just because some folk signed up to be a soldier and survived a posting or two in the middle east doesnt mean they are all perfect citizens...

It is pretty revealing from that video that the police acted well beyond their remit as far as this man was concerned. There was no excuse for treating him in such a vicious manner and it is hardly surprising that he bit the copper's leg in self defence.
Treating someone is such a manner is tantamount to using their position as an excuse to give him a beating and they should be made to suffer the full consequences of their actions.
I was disturbed to see a report which says that a criminal offence does not necessarily bar a policeman from continuing in his job. Apparently there are a good few officers who have been convicted of criminal offences and have been allowed to continue as police officers! I find that difficult to believe.
Still if you can lead a government department and be party to an enormous **** up resulting in serious consequencies and still keep your job and get bonuses too, how can we possibly complain about the above!"

What i can't believe is being missed by the intellectual massive of the scoobynet massive is the it's NOT the beating that is the issue.
If it had been a skinny 19yo chav with badly fitting tracksuit and base ball cap, the Daily Mail reading majority would have been hailing a:
"Police get tough on binge drinking youths in our inner cities" however as it was a Lance Jack who spent time in the Gulf the red tops cry "WAR HERO battered by police"
The fact that the 3 ******* lied to obtain a conviction seems to have passed by!!

However civpol serve the public in a democratic society, whereas the Redcaps and their gheyer Snowdrop cousins serve an autonomous dictatorship that is only wrong when you challenge them. After that they are usual proved to be massively wrong.

For the record, the best and our most usual MO would make sure any civvies etc were well clear, let them drink the place dry and then move in once they fell asleep. I remember being on one shout where some idiot Rupert decided to send some dogs in ...3 went in and only 1 came out.

There is more to this than what shows on the CCTV i imagine . Hard luck to the guy. And if the Police are in trouble hard luck to them.
But all this "hero " krap is madness. what difference does his job make ?

I guess I'm alone in not having much sympathy for the guy. You spout off at authority whilst drunk something WILL happen.
No, Im alright.
I've been out an got bladdered. But in something like 15 years of drinking. I've never been accosted by the Police once. Let alone resisted arrest or even been cautioned.
I'm so boring

I've been arrested for a few things but each one because some **** has told them it was me for whatever...only for them to later apologise and admit they got the wrong person. Yeah I've mouthed off at police, some of their procedures are pathetic, like the pushing one. If in a crowd theyre trying to disperse, and the person wont move away, they can then push them with both hands, fair enough. But I once witnessed a little 15yr old boy (and i mean little as in very short, and small) being shoved to the ground with such force he had to have stitches in his head bless him. very good lad he is aswell. no need for that!
Cant say ive ever been in the situation though where iv excessively mouthed off at policemen, yeah ive had a go and expressed my feelings, but not to the intent that im rugby tackled by the fattest guy on the beat and punched and assaulted on the concrete tarmac! simply outrageous
