We generally buy a real tree, the weekend before the week Christmas sits in so never more than a week before, its impossible to maintain the level of enthusiasm regarding the festive period when it is actually here, never mind the month before ?
I reckon you early decorators just need the stimulus from "Pretty Shiny Things" to fulfil your needs, your very special needs

Have none of you heard of the 12 days of Christmas?
THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS IS CHRISTMAS EVE!!!
You decorate your house on Christmas eve (with your kids/loved ones) and take 'em down twelve days later!
Otherwise what are you celebrating? Christ's birth or the opportunity to get pissed, eat too much and give all your spare cash to Messrs Dixons, Tesco, Sainsburys, ect, ect.
Oh, and Christmas shopping should start 1st December, NO DECORATING SHOPS BEFORE THIS DATE.
There Endeth the rant. (flame suit on. It's for the kiddies ect ect. yeah? Then why does everyone sit round drinking and watching telly? spend the day playing with your kids instead. (extra flame suit on))
p.s. I 'aint a Bible basher, just someone who gets more and more pissed off with the commercialisation of what's supposed to be a religious celebration/holiday.
