think it was personal jerry.yeah claiming on the insurance connor should cover all costs.worst thing is i went in to see awd motorsport to ask how much the engine a box was worth. and the guy had said he'd not long had a email asking about the car as i have it on pistonheads. he told the guy that it was minted and well worth the money.i was asking 4k.id also had a missed call last night so i phoned it back today and it was the guy that had emailed awd and he told me that the car would have been gone by the weekend if it hadnt been burt.

the engine and gear box would have been salvagable. the van set fire to the back end. the insurance wont let me buy it back because its fire damage. well gutted could have made myself atleast and extra grand on the engine.

They tried that with me with my old Honda Civic (prang that resulted in it becoming a Cat D) ...eventually after talking to someone who knew what they were talking about, i got it back.
Until you sign over the V5 it's legally yours & yours only ...there have been quite a few cases where because of sentimental or rarity reasons owners have taken their cars back ...your Ins. Co will be well aware of this![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Might be worth posting a question in the Ins. section

not been on for ages as i couldnt look at other scooby's without getting wound up. so i got the settlement fron the insurance company the offered us £4000 for the car minus excess and the rest of the years permium. we declinded that offer they then upted another £200. declined that aswell eventualy settled on £4750 for the car. so from that they took the £150 excess and the £3500 outstanding premuim leaving us with £1300 to get a new car. so another scooby is out of the question. i prob wont be back on here as everytime i see a scooby it puts me in a rager as its been 3 months and the police have done jack.
