Aye, point taken.
I guess that if you did confirm that the original post was possibly a nod to trollism, it would only fuel fires etc. but you did vere towards that and explain your reasons so thats coolioolioolio
I'm just a bit against any kind of censorship, although, with your explanation it's probably warranted here.

Anyhoo, speaking of people moving away to other climes etc., I've noticed a number of temps that we did have at work have decided they were getting out of here and never coming back as they were sick of the way we're governed and taxed. I feel the same but can't go anywhere!

It does amaze me when I hear how much some people I know have borrowed in the last few years, with no way or intention of paying the money back. Not on really and I have no idea why the banks thought it was ok to give people all this money

Well I'm SO glad that NL got into bed with supermarkets who made the UK completely reliant on imports in order to slash prices and increase profits...
And almost laughed as UK manufacturing collapsed.

Our sole "USP" of being the centre of finance has now gone. We are quite literally a pretty sickly little country right now.

This country is so, so screwed - Labour's response to the mess they've contributed to is appauling as well.

We've had a situation where banks have been lending out money which people have no chance of being able to pay back, so people can buy massively overpriced assets like housing, and now all Labour want to do is try and prop-up this madness with more [borrowed] government funding

[blood boiling] We're looking at 5-10 years of economic hardship in the UK thanks to this now, and when the world economy finally starts picking up again the UK will be so crippled that other countries like will steal our advantage, and we'll continue in terminal decline. [/blood boiling]

Not by what people tell me. Canada have loads of jobs - if you live near the big cities especially near Alberta, although wages are lower but the cost of living is lower too.

Good friend of my sisters has just buggered off to Perth which is booming, i watched on some programme that their economic growth (six months ago before all this kicked off) was higher than China!!!!! they went over with a few grand in their pocket her bloke was a maintenance engineer, got a job did 4 week didn't like it, walked out and was offered another straight away with more pay and better conditions.

First it was hard but now they have joined an expats club, made loads of aussie mates and wished they did it years ago. you have to be under 45 though if your working so get your skates on Matt

My sister is going for a holiday next year and if they like it , they're going too.

Pah - I still have 13 years left...
Couldn't move to Oz.
Wife has a lot of family there (loads went out in the early 1900s) and we've been for three months - too Americanised, crap coffee, crap cars, too far from family.
Canada sounds like hell too (got very good mates who moved) - no sense of humour at all and almost no surf!

If I went out of the country, it would be to SW France. I LOVE the French lifestyle and way of doing things. Plus I speak the lingo.

As you can tell I moved back to England about 10 years ago

Matt i like France but dont like the people (maybe i'm being stereotypical here) They sell us their mangy old onions yet burn all our sheep

Now Canada i would be tempted, Nova Scotia i would imagine has great surf and only 6 hours away. on the West coast, Victoria on Vancouver island - someone told me it is heaven on earth (expensive though)

....or if you're a new home owner who bought their place a few months before everything went to crap. Fine with paying mortgage etc. but has to wait for things to restabilise before thinking of selling up as their place is still a great investment due to location etc. and will be viable for sale in 5 years or so

When I say "speak" the lingo, I don't mean "can write" it!

I will admit there sense of humor about America was quiet a sweet quality. I guess your right, living in the west country it would'nt be a massive change to move down that way.
Best thing is super cheap wine!!!!

Torque - same here. I'm most "fluent" after a wine or two. Then I take it too far and descend into a gibbering mess.

If I drink enough wine I am convinced I am fluent in Polish too... Just ask the guy that lives down the lane, He hides if he see's me on my way back from the put.

Tim "Antonin.. ghtoroski jfjhtthski helloski im ski well drunkski"

Antonin "Tim please go away you cannot speak Polish and you frighten my children"

Despite knowing the ins and outs of French, I still need a bit of oiling up (with booze) to have total confidence and have a proper French chat.
Annoying because Mrs Matt knows a lot less but has no fear in speaking it at any time.

Im i wrong or is the collapse of sterling the important point .!
Nothing can be done about the housing market ( its overinflated full stop) , yet the government is hell bent on propping it up AND persuading people to buy *stuff* on the high-street.
Isnt the present mucking about just going to **** up the financial industry which is dominant in the prosperity of the place globally !
